Just turned 42 in march and recently started back poling. I have been poling since 2009 and fell in love with it immediately. In 2012 my life took a drastic turn and pole fell to the back of my list. I have been back poling regularly for the past 2 months and have renewed my passion! I love how strong im becoming and how good it makes me feel!!

I am an almost 42 year old 200+ pound pole dancer so you think your limited LMAO try doing tricks with some extra junk iin your trunk! I love pole though even though sad to say since my weight ballooned up (still trying to figure out why) I have not poled as much as I used to. Although it always made me feel super confident and super sexy. Like you I practiced a spin or trick for months till I perfected it but also concentrated more on my strengths which was transistions and floor work. My ex husband was indifferent about my pole and made me feel cheap for wanting to learn MY boyfriend on the other had thinks it’s HOT and keeps begging me to perform for him. Maybe one day I will. I started Veena's 30 day take off program this week … but i'm alternating between Veena's workout and Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. hoping that my body will quit fighting against me and i shed some inched before summer really gets here. so far i'm loving veena's lesson plan. so organized this is what i have been missing from the beginning of my pole journey. tomorrow is day 3 …can't wait.

so i have been here many times paid for lessons then bailed after the first month. I have set aside some money to pay monthly with Veena and I'm starting the 30 day Take off on sunday. I have read thru most of this thread and have to say i feel energized and am excited to start. I have been poling for 3 years and in July last year after moving away from where i lived for 7 years back to my hometown i lost my motivation to pole …. i see my pole standing in the corner of living room begging to be used and i just couldn't be bothered. I am on a mission to find myself again and renew my energy and confidence levels that I found with pole again. Hopefully when I get backto were I was then I can go back to sharing my love of pole with the ladies of my community.

holy wow that opened a pandora's box didn't it? So I have a student at my studio that is totally and utterly fantastic. I gave the basics of poling and she ran away with it and is now totally out of my realm of teaching. unfortunately we are a small studio in a small town in the Ottawa Valley. I would really love to get her into competitions and when I mentioned it to her she got quite excited. Do we know if there is anything coming up …. and not just competitions but showcases maybe montreal/ottawa/toronto area??? I am curious to know how the one in Toronto made out it was held a couple of weeks ago.
If there is interest out there and committe being pulled together I would love to be apart of that. I love pole dancing and what it does for women today. I am great at organizing events

thank you Veena … I already have my own pole … but I am afraid my instructor has reached capacity for what she can teach me. I’m looking to get stronger to do inverts and gain more flexibility. I will look into your lessons for sure.

Hey there … yes it’s me!!! I live here in Pet and have been taking Pole for about 2 yrs. You want to get in touch with Kari hummer. She will actually be at dundonald hall on Sept 11 this coming saturday for the fall sports and leisure show. http://www.karihummerdance.com we dance monday nights in pembroke at Yantha studios … would love to have a new member join our group. we are a group of 6 right now mostly all army wives sometimes it’s more social then dance to be honest and a lot of times the moves we do are self taught … we see someting we want to try on the internet and then go there to try it. Hey Kara …. check out http://www.karihummerdance.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; currently our studio is in pembroke but we are hoping to get a new studio up and running for the fall. Kari is going to be started a new sensual dance class i believe starting tonight or next thursday … it’s her prerequiste to pole. if you have pole experience those classes are already on week 3 she runs a beginners class on monday from 6-7 and an intermediate class from 7-8 email her call her she will get right back to you.

Please let us know …. Ottawa is better but Montreal works too!! I was telling the girls at class last night and they all got super hyped and we would prob all come down … there are at least 6 of us in her intermediate class and another 6 in her beginner class.
