Felix Cane’s Artistry DVD talks and demonstrates hands, feet, climbing, walking, transitions. I found it very useful.

Hi AriFerrari, to help you become used to the pull on your elbows, grab your inner thighs with both hands. This will help to stabilise you as well as lock your core and provide further support to your elbows. I've posted a clip of Billie Brooklyn at 0:33 doing just this. If you can grab more of your thigh then the more help this will be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iER4BZujUI Once you've mastered this, you'll be strong enough to move your hands behind your back. Please keep us all updated on your progress. SonicX xx

It's a very cool move which I posted in Jul 12. We call it the Voodoo or Doris after Doris Arnold. It really pulls your rotator cuff. Here's a link to the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3XgbRQIAJg

Dulux paint make Glimmer Paint as well as Metallic Paint which is a reasonable price. Here in Australia a 4 litre tin costs AUD$156. A 4 litre tin paints 4 walls twice. If you'd like a feature wall a 1 litre tin will cover 1 wall twice. A wall is 16 square metres. They come in many different colour and look spectacular…you can even rub up against the Glimmer and some of the sparkle comes off on to you. It's water based so dries quite quickly too. (I used to work in a Paint shop)…lol

MemberNovember 19, 2012 at 4:10 am in reply to: Instructional pole DVD’s? Which one to get?I'm pretty much self taught from YouTube and set up my channel to help others with finding new combos/tricks. I learnt the beg/inter/basic adv moves at a pole studio and then hit a ceiling and had to turn to DVDs, books, workshops and Youtube. I bought the Felix Cane Box set of 5 DVDs as well as Art of Pole Vol 3, 4, 5 and like chemgoddess1 I haven't really used them primarily becuause I already know the moves. I've watched them once each. If you're trying to learn new moves then either Felix or Jamilla's DVDs are good. The lessons are good, very well structured and tips are provided in both.
Both Jamilla and Felix break the moves down so you can see where to grip and which muscles you need to engage. Why not consider downloading Pole 101 Handbook (Beg, Int, Adv) for $10 from Amazon. It's written by an Australian Tracey Ecclestone, and provides conscise information for each move. I'm an advanced pole dancer and didn't find this useful, however, if you're just learning or making your way through your pole journey any of these will be great. Many of my friends love the Pole 101 Handbook. Each move has a description on how to get into the move.
I haven't seen Alethea's but her style is quite different to my style, so I won't be purchasing them. I also purchased the Pole Positions book from IPDFA which is quite good, if you don't have YouTube/Internet access. With this book you look at the picture and figure out how to get into the move yourself.
Hope this helps. 🙂

Jade S, I've just remembered a great clip of the Brass Monkey Flip/Tornedo Roll.
It's under Level 5 of the Pole Dance Community Syllabus at the link below.
When you get to the page, double click the online syllabus and then click Level 5. Scroll down to Tornedo Roll and you'll be able to slow it down, and super slow motion too.

Good luck xx

Hi Jade S, it's also called a Tornedo, I've been meaning to add this to the title to the link you posted. When I first learnt this trick I asked someone to help push me up so I got an idea of how it would feel. Firstly, you'll need good grip behind your knee. Once you have this, you will use your other leg as your 'pendulum'. Essentially the swing of your other leg (the straight one) will propel you or push you up. At the same time you swing your leg down, you push your body up and away from the pole. You do this with your hands. It's a push and swinging motion.
It's quite scary at first, but super cool. I'll give this trick a go tonight and let you know if I have any other tips.
Let me know if you'd like the trick slowed down for you and I'll either email it to you, or upload it on my youTube channel. Thx SonicXplosion xx

I'm so close. I was able to get it on a static pole. Will try it on a spinning pole tomorrow.
Hope these tips help.
1 – Grip really hard with your leg
2 – Use both hands over your head to pull you up and through to the other side
3 – Place your neck (no hair because you slip) on the pole and put the same arm as your bent leg in at your waist to hold the pole
4 – Keep your top hand on the pole until you feel you have grip/balance with your leg, neck and hand. Jiggle/move into position.
5 – Once you have balance & jiggled then release top hand.
6 – Ultimately being able to release bottom hand too.Put shaving cream behind your knee. I first tried it on a 38mm pole then once I was able to sit on the front of the pole, I moved to a 42mm pole and was able to 'Icarus'…lol no spin tho.

Hi All, I tried this move today thanks a video response from CaitlinMidori to my Post of Icuras Pole Trick. It takes quite a lot of leg strength as some of you have already mentioned. I also started with the same arm as my leg grip, holding the pole in at my waist. Once I was able to feel the correct position I was able to release. Hope this helps. SonicXplosion xx
