That's awesome–congrats! As others have said, there are many benefits to studio classes and it's a great complement to your own home learning. I didn't step into a studio until last year, and even though I've never done a regular studio level/classes, even just taking classes here and there and workshops and being on SV has helped me immensely.

    GL! 🙂

  • Yes, hoppinariel (though she also hoops!). I sent her a msg. I hope she gets it!

  • Yes, Holly thank you! I didn't think to search in google, I just searched 'roxy exit' or something on here. YAY!!

I hope she's alright too, dang I wish I could recall her name.

Sorry to hear your friend isn't on the site any longer! It's tough to lose touch with posters that you connect with. :/

YES–I haven't seen her either and I'm going to Atlanta soon…wanted to see if it would be possible to take a lesson.

Lovelife–either is fine! I always freestyle my dances, though I do also try to have some specific moves/combos that I keep in mind to work in to the dance. The rest I just let happen, however it may. LOL. I also don't have much time to pole, so for that reason I don't choreo and edit… I just throw it up online however it turns out.

GL–this month was my first challenge and it was fun. 🙂

Amy, awesome. Knowing the tip about opening the knee will help. I tried to do this today but dangit if I couldn't stick to the pole enough to bend down!

Veena–I KNEW there must be some shoulder stretching exercises! I looked and didn't see them. Thanks!

    Sensual–Those are great, too!

Bumping this up. I have (what I think are) tight shoulders too. I have trouble reaching around the pole for the floating ballerina, for instance. What book are you all talking about? I have The Genius of Flexibility' but it doesn't appear the stretches are broken down by type (ie –shoulder stretches).

Oh, yes, IKEA has some cool wavy mirrors–no frames!

Maybe it depends on the person removing the frame! i got those cheap door mirrors and broke not one–but TWO–trying to remove the frames. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Angel–I saw a book recommended on this site lately–the Genius of Flexibility–and I ordered it used from amazon. When I got it, I was happy to see it's endorsed by Dara Torres, and I remembered that you recommended her videos!

polefairy–I have the same questions as you! Great thread. I am working on my splits. In reading the book referenced above, anyone at any age can increase flexibility, which is awesome to hear!

tarah-what confuses me too, and the same goes for the question/answer to 'how often should I pole?' is, what if you only stretch for 30 min a day (for example) as opposed to an hour every other day? If you do 30 min it seems you can stretch every day right? Or what if you stretch/workout less intensely? I guess the answer is to have body awareness and see how you feel the next day. IDK, it's definitely confusing!

I have no idea, but I'm sorry. 🙁 Have you seen a chiropractor? I can't imagine never getting adjusted, mine has helped me tremendously with my back issues.

Julie, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. There comes a point when it's too much. Not respecting the forum and its owners and the namecalling is where it breaks down for me and needs to stop. Some people really enjoy that kind of thing and creating chaos. I don't understand it. Maybe they'll change, however I have witnessed this exact behavior on other boards though and haven't seen it to be so. Again, JMHO.

Amen. Here's the link to troll definitions that I posted in the other thread. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=troll

Other forums I've been on have had an 'ignore' feature….which would be nice. Banning her would be nice, too. 🙂
