I have been holding on to the pole, don’t know how I could do it otherwise! I would love a video of the AA stretch, if you have one. I do figure 4 and butterfly and pigeon, so maybe that one will help too. I know my hip flexors and piriformis are tight.
I guess I thought pancake was a precursor to middles because every stretching DVD does it before middles lol. Also you see people go through it to get into middles sometimes. I just wish I knew what to do to get it lol. -

following this thread! tacha-do you do the same music every class for warm-up (or have you been, just changing it when you’re tired of it)? I like that a lot!

great question! I loooove to freestyle. I might have moves/combos in mind, but not an order or place to put them. I really try to let the music move me and to be ‘in’ the music. It’s raw and a wonderful way to feel out how to get from A to B to C, etc. Here is one I did recently, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK6XLKfZaNE

my advice, in addition to what’s been said (which is excellent) is to make sure you’re training for splits with squared hips. if you can isolate what is tight and spend more time on those areas, that is huge as well. That might seem obvious, but when following a stretch DVD for example, just following the program may mean you’re missing that extra time on the areas that really need it, which will impede progress. GL. I don’t have splits, but I have found–through injury and frustration and giving up again and again–some bits of knowledge along the way. lol.

That’s an unfortunate situation, sorry Lina. I would be hesitant too, just because I don’t like letting people down. Seems like he is trying to ‘go somewhere’ and his hope is to establish a relationship…but you have to let him down.
I don’t really have a good answer for the best way to do that, though. The fact that I am married and my profile says so, probably deters a lot of creepers, so I don’t have much experience with the social media & guys stuff. I do have a separate pole profile, because I don’t want guys I interact with in real life to have access to my pole pics, and as I rule I don’t accept guy friend requests on that profile. 😉
GL….again, sorry and I hope this is resolved well!!

you are also really focused on turning your chest toward the ceiling in your attempts, but that is not really what happens in the cartwheel. they are very different (cartwheel vs twisted grip handspring). the body doesn’t make the same motion. think DOWN (with the lower body), not UP

No doubt, aries. I could say the same for ANY pole move! O.o

I like that i can use a bendy tripod with the vado, which makes it easier to use than my phone. There is also the issue of music…i i am playing music through my phone, i cant video with it obviously…

I dont like to record on my phone…maybe this is due to my setup (camera looking straigt to windows). Video isnt clear on my phone. I have a VADO and love it. Aerial Amy blogged about it.
