Update: I've sold the pole. 🙂
-
Oh, Momma, I have those shoes too! They are my FAVES! So comfy! 🙂

Does it spin? 🙂

YES! Please DO let us know. When I found out she was coming the fist time I tried to sign up but ALL her classes sold out SO FAST I couldn’t go. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
I REALLY want to have a chance this next go round! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif -
I’d LOVE to join in on this too! My schedule changes from week to week, but I’ll show up for what chats I can. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Thursdays usually are pretty good for me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

I second spinnyfox’s comments! Whether I am working out hard or just standing outside in hot weather, I tend to look all flushed like I’m dying. The pole just exemplifies that unfortunate tendency.
Yes! People look at me all worried-like if I take an aerobics class, I get SO red! Eh. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Same problem here! And it’s the same for me too…head, face, neck, shoulders…yeah. I think people with a certain skin tone deal with it more than others. It seems to be more common in people with paler, pink undertones (that’d be me!) Nice to know you’re not alone, and that there’s nothing wrong with you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

My very first crush, the lady and the video that made me fall in love with pole was Bobbi!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlJeU6JlJsYNow I’d have to say my main crushes are (in no particular order):
Blue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb6e3VQV8iY
RhiannanNichole http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bqDnOHuN7o
Karol (my absolute FAVE vid of hers!) http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2831
Marlo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo1WJcB3SU4
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gifI love MANY more dancers as well, but these ladies are my main squeezes! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Hope it works out for you!! Sounds like a lot of fun! I wish there was a place like that close to me, ’cause I’d love to teach some basic classes, too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif -

That was brilliant! I love it when you can tell a dancer just absolutely LOVES what they’re doing, and they invite the audience into their world of passion for it as well! As far as enjoyability goes for me, I’d much rather watch a girl who exudes passion and joy in what she does and maybe doesn’t nail it on the precision side then to watch a girl who’s textbook but lacks feeling and passion in her performance.
She was awesome, and I enjoyed every minute of watching her. That’s what I’m talking about! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
True talent! I love seeing REAL artists and genuinely gifted singers/performers these days! The true talents are becoming harder and harder to come by, but she’s definitely one of the few. YAY PINK!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Rubi,
Yeah, when I insert it it’s all the way in, pointed towards the tail bone, and spins with ease. I DID just do some online searches, and I found a forum about menstrual cups. I found a thread where a girl was having the same problems as I did, and she tried inserting it with a different fold than the usual "C" fold. She said it started working much better for her. So…I’ll have to give that a try when my cycle comes back around (in a week or so). I’ll let you all know if it works for me (since I’m sure you’re just DYING to know https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ). Here’s the link to that forum in case any of you are interested in some more detailed reading on the topic. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif
http://menstrualcups.org/"I’m so glad you found a (potential) solution! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Thanks for the link; I had no idea there were sites dedicated to the wonders of menstrual cups. I really would be curious to hear whether or not this works out for you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I had never thought of trying different folds.
YAY!!!! So, I tried my Diva Cup again this cycle, using the "oragami" fold instead of the "c" fold, and WHOOHOO!!!! It works! I’m SO happy!! I will say though, that it made me realize how insanely heavy my periods are! Yikes! Kind of weird to be able to measure your "loss", but very informative. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this forum, and then researched the subject a little further. Now my purse, my body AND me will be happier. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Thanks, RUBI!
For any of you ladies who’ve had the problem of the cup not staying in, watch this instructional video on how to insert the cup (don’t worry, it doesn’t show "real" lady parts!), and try the second fold that they show you. That’s the one that ended up working for me. http://www.mooncup.co.uk/advice-centre/faqs.html#237"
