MemberAugust 14, 2014 at 4:51 pm in reply to: Lap dance routine in less than a month? His birthday is Monday and I will do it then. I found a nice simple lap dance routine in a Cosmo magazine and I am going to incorporate some of the lap dance lessons here on SV also. If all goes well Monday it should be fun and confidence building for me. I practiced a few moves on him because it is really hard to slide off a wooden chair and he liked that part so I am sure he will like the rest 🙂 I will let you know how it goes (without going into too much detail that is lol)

I had the same issue and I was looking into getting ballet flats or some sort of light shoe with a leather bottom. In the meantime I put on a pair of those little socks you can get to wear in your flat shoes, they are sometimes cotton, nylon or lace and they have worked wonders! And they are cheap and readily available just about anywhere. They are nice because they cover just your toes, the bottom of your foot and the back of your heel leaving the top and the side of the foot open for contact with the pole.

Yes, I have seen a doctor and because of my age there really is nothing other than chiropractics and exercise that I can do. Thankfully I work out with a bunch of physical therapists and I pick their brains quite frequently. I told one of them last night that I had started poling and she said that it would be a fantastic way to work out as the lower half of your body would be pulling down on your spine during some of the moves. I pretty much know my limitations of what I can and can not do with normal workouts but poling is different. I was hoping that someone else here has dealt with scoliosis and be able to guide me somewhat. I am going to try the back flexibility workout today after my pole strength routine and see how that feels.

I was wondering this too but I am finding out that it is specific to you. I start with the pole strength routine each time I workout and I keep track of how much difficulty I have with the pole holds and knee tucks. For example, I used to have to do one knee tuck at a time and now I break them into groups of five in a row. Do it like you would any other workout, slowly. If you ramp up to quickly you will just injure yourself and set yourself back. I have been working out on the pole for a month now and I am just up to the pole climbs and sits and I won’t move on from those until I can do them comfortably. My advice it take your time, form is much, much more important than speed.

Here is a little tennis ball trick I just figured out, take an old pair of tights, put two tennis balls into one foot, make it tight, twist it and push it back through so it is double layered, tie a knot and cut the tights. It makes the tennis balls more skin friendly and it is great for massaging around your spine. As for the roller, I use PVC, foam isn’t hard enough lol But yes, I love rolling out too, I haven’t used foam for three and a half years.

When I first started poling I had slight pain in my elbows. I work out regularly three days a week with a group and never felt the pain there. I think it was caused by the different angle of doing tricep pushes on the pole. I would suggest some type of anti-inflammatory and icing after you work out. Just keep an eye on it. My pain seems to have lessened in my elbows and I have been poling for a month now.

Would a fake x-pole have the x-pole bag, instructions or x-pole on the pole itself?

I bought this pole “Showgirl Dance Pole Portable Kit Made By X-pole 45mm Xpole” from Amazon sold by Pro Therapy Supplies, is it a real x-pole?

I live just 20 miles outside the IL side of the QC! If you are still around maybe we could meet up sometime.

No need to worry about babies, we already have to kids and no more can be made 🙂
