    Mama

    Why not try both of them before you make your decision?

    Inverting the first time out is accomplished with far greater frequency if you try ice skating.  I know from experience … LOL.

    A good pair of leather pants equls 1/3 the price of a new pole.  Ouch.  Let him wear what's comfortable till he wants to just do a pole sit.  Loose baggy gym shorts work great for allowing him to just hike them up for a trial to expose some skin.  Once he tries with exposed skin he'll moreliekly understand the benefit.  Then go off an look for a pair of Sansha's or Caperio's Mens Shorts.

    A useless talent must be better than having no talent at all, I'm guessing.

    @Charley >>  Post Reply To: Article: Are creatives more prone to mental illness?

    Well, directly from your article, it states: "As a group, those in the creative professions were no more likely to suffer from psychiatric disorders than other people."

    However the depth that creative people are more intimately connected to their heartstrings, as compared to the general population at large, makes me believe that the outside world might very well, more easily attach such a misguided label to creative type folks.

    @Pankake.   You made me smile.
    Of course my 3rd generation kitties were named Indiana and his twin brother was Parnelli.  Thus I guess Indiana Madison or Parenlli Madison would be an acceptable alternative.

    Lets see, pet / street = Marshmellow Madison.

    Not so sure about using that moniker.

    Chemmie … Yep.

    Woke up this morning humming that delightful tune by Rachmaninov entiled "Isle of the Dead".  It's laundry time before I hit the studio this morning or else someone is going to die from the fumes.

    The sliver lining in this cloud for me is the fact that people on the national media are discussing pole in an open environment. When things creep into the spotlight and become open, I say that creates a more viable pathway to constructive change. I firmly believe that the public stigma will evolve and morph to a more positive acceptance. While at the same time many of those who pole will keep the fires burning strongly for the lineage that developped pole and the artistry it we witness today.

    The first real pole competition I ever witnessed in person, consisted of five men and five women competing.  The gender who managed to elicit the loudest audience response, from a crowd dominated by female attendees, was none other than the men.

    Like @dustbunny said "We are our own worst critics."

    However that being said I feel it's wonderful to video what your doing.  When teaching you'll often hear from me "You ARE what you DO".  I'm trying to get dancers to look at their lines in the mirror to forge a strongger "shape to muscle memory connection".  Unless you have an outside eye or a great set of mirrors around your pole, the video is an excellent tool to offer you honest feedback.  It's so much easier to correct or improve when you know what it is you are realy doing.  Film on.
