See, pole dancing IS a traditional way to celebrate Christmas! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif -
Thanks ladies for all the great info in this thread! I noticed last night that my xjoint between A and B was twisted on the B pole (not all the way but close!) I found this thread this morning and started to take it apart to do the broom trick and noticed that my extension xjoint was also twisted. That one I was able to tweak back and take apart. I used the broom trick on the B pole and the joint popped right out! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
now i can put the pole back up and actually spend some time with it ( https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif holiday!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif ).

how you got into pole dancing: I wanted to learn pole for years (since the first studio opened in my town) but never got around to it until this fall. All I can say is i’m like a fish to water with pole. LOVE IT, can’t get enough. When I started I had never even touched a pole or seen a pole dance in person (only on movies, lol).
how you found out about studioveena.com: from pole skivvies!
if you were a pair of underwear would you be a thong, boy shorts, bikini cut or granny panties: i’d be bootie shorts with a sexy thong pop ;b -
same here! same here!!! all of it, lol. I think the dizzy thing is bc in studio we spend alot of time just walking around the pole and doing little leg kick spins before going all out so we get the dizzies out. I’m going to try to do this at home as part of warm up also.
the stage(boy) fright thing, still working on. i put on a cute outfit last night (not unlike what i would wear to studio) and started stretching and warming up, well, i ended up never taking off my sweatshirt, never actually poling, then gave up and started watching the movie with him! lol, my pole is in the living room as well, soooo. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif -
I will post a vid tomorrow.
I am getting ur lessons Veena prob next week (as I am broke from buying a pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif ) can’t wait!
thanks for everyone’s suggestions! -
sorry didn’t finish answering your questions!!!
i used brass at studio so got a TG for home. I don’t have much to compare with as we only did a climb/sit once. but doing a sit from home I just slid down. same with climb. I had help at the studio, soooo. i prob would have slid then as well.
my hands are pretty well calloused already due to brass. -
Thanks amy! I’ll have to do it tomorrow on my day off/pole on!
audball- STUDIO hasn’t taught me any of that yet. One of the last days I went (about a month ago) we did a pole climb and that was it. I guess they do it diff??? I have all kinds of spins, transitions and floorwork, up my sleeve, but can’t sit or climb and have no routine, soooooo. I was doing twice a week for almost 3 months.

Simply put: they way you treat pole dancing is the way your kids will learn to treat pole dancing. If you hide it and sneak around like it’s dirty then that’s what they will grow up to believe. Everyone brings their kids over to play on my pole. They don’t dance on it dirty or sexy. They don’t even know how to think of it as that. Only adult minds make those kinds of associations. They just see it as an indoor playground. And everytime my neices and nephews come over, I teach them tricks.
Check this video out of us from last summer! It’s a riot!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

yes jungle cat! Thanks for that. This is also the way I see things but can’t seem to get hubby on the same page, first thing out of his mouth is "STRIPPER POLE". Pole just went up at my house this week, but he is freaking out about he kids touching it. My stepson(18) wants on it really bad and dad freaked on that said nope is for girls. then freaked when 3yo daughter started doing her little tricks. he said i was going to turn her into a stripper before she’s even 12. i have been really angry about his attitude. The only one of the kids that had any reservations about it was my 9yo (where he learned about stripping is beyond me, thank you plaground) but when i explained to him that it wasn’t just for that and showed him videos (chinese pole, martial arts pole, and of course Veena’s pole family dance) he is okay with it now. My little boys (7, 5) don’t care and looooove playing on the pole.
IDK how i’m going to get that preconceived notion out of DH’s head. ugh, piggymen! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif -

soo cool! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif -
lol, I hate pushups!!!! gravity likes to leave me on the ground. but seriously, i do them and i don’t make progress with them. even the years busting my azz at the gym (or above my azz for that matter) i can’t seem to get that upper body strength. My upper body is sooo small and thin. It doesn’t look scrawny, just won’t build more muscle. to give you an idea here, my bra band is 30 and when I get my blood pressure taken they have to use the childrens cuff on my arm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif
a friend just told me that depending on your body type some areas are harder to build muscle in (but she said she read it in glamour mag years ago https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif so who knows). i think ill try to find some info about that, maybe thats my nonmuscle area and i need special exercises (like muscle implants, heehee)*sigh* just don’t want to be left on the ground, I can fly! I can fly!
about vid, can I use my webcam on laptop to record a vid? (sorry, i’m special when it comes to stuff like that)

maybe, unscrew your adjuster cover and make sure the screws are on the flat sides of the adjuster
or
make sure ur static/spinny screws are both tightened all the way, then loosened all the way
???

MemberDecember 12, 2010 at 5:03 pm in reply to: Do X-poles say if they are 45 or 50mm on the box?just got mine. no size on box itself. If there is a packing slip on the outside of the box it will be on that (if he’s concerned with actually opening the box) and the size is part of the part number on the outside of the cardboard tubes inside the box so it would say blahblahTG50blahblahblah
hth! -

i know, i’m a manic spaz! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif -
holy mole!!!!! that was super rad! it’s crazy how fast they transition into the next move huh? i keep expecting one to miss when they toss themselves at the pole to mount, lol. i wonder what the diameter of that pole is and what it’s made of, it looks like carved wood almost like a smooth totem pole??
thanks for sharing! -
i ordered directly from xpole. sooo.
i know it’s holidays, i’m trying to be understandng, BUT that’s a big ass package to "misplace", lol
