  • Thanks I found that pole after searching it is not $$$ and not shipped to USA Platnium stages is the only one short enough for use any where. I have to ditch the idea. After hours of wasted time researching. Oh well guess I have to find some other way to tell people what I do.

I worked for two hours yesterday learning new stuff and practicing old stuff and usually I roll out on the foam roller after to reduce soreness but I forgot so I did it in the morning when I woke up feeling like hell. I feel better now but sometimes I take a natural pain reliever that contains turmeric and when it gets really annoying I go to the massage therapist who knows miofacial (sp?) release techniques and that really does the trick. Sometimes if I can’t shake them I take a few days off training and I usually end up feeling stronger and much better when I come back.

I thought about getting one for my studio but I was afraid it might be harder for newbies to hang on to the thing I go a 45 inch since I could only afford one to start with I would be interested in hearing what others though about the 40 before I make my next purchase. I too have smaller hands and do well with a 45 but at the studio I attend for classes they have 8 50’s and one 45 and I can do most things on the 50 now but I still find more stability in a 45. Guess who is always in class early though to get the 45.

I did try a little powder but that didn’t work it must take a really good layer of powder and I really don’t want to clean that up all the time. So on to some other possible solutions I may have to have something installed or maybe I can get some sort of matt that is slippery with some sort of grip tape at the bottom. I will keep looking if all else fails I may have to have another type of flooring installed but that will have to wait until I build my business I have only been doing it about two months.
    Thanks!

I do my superman wierd so it might not help I do it from a shoulder mount but keep my legs straight then I just reach up behind me with one hand and stretch the other one out. Its not as pretty to get in that way but it is less painful

I am not sure I can put the quotes on the pics myself but I just want some pictures in various poses especially pole since it will be my niche. My email address is sundcarrie@yahoo.com and any pics would be greatly appreciated. I can’t seem to take photos of myself on the pole.

Thanks that is a great idea. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.

I am not super modest with the shorts but once I find some good underwear I love the cheap little capezio shorts I wear. They are really short but they don’t move around much. My underwear is another story. If I could just find some great underwear I would be all set. On that note I am short and I tend to have big thighs and a round rear end no matter how fit or not fit I am so they might fit a tall thin person differently.

I forgot to mention that I have been doing this for about 2 years when I started I did pole 2-3 days and cardio at home or in the gym a few days a week.

I don’t know. My class schedule is Monday multi-level pole followed by aerial if I have the energy. Tuesday advanced pole then ballroom dance class. Wed is a rest day if I am really sore or aerial yoga. Thursday advanced pole and Latin dance class. I have a house cleaning job every other Friday so I consider it a rest day but it is just a non training day. Saturday I just started teaching a cardio-kick class then I attend pole (multi-level) U used to stay for aerial but I am not sure if that will ever happen while I am teaching. Then I do extra cardio during the week and practice my handstands or flexibility but that just depends on how I feel. All the classes I attend are 1-1.5 hours. So I would say I take(or teach) a minimum of 8 hours of classes each week.

As I read through this thread I realized I would have had a different opinion about 2 years ago when I started. I would never have taken a co-ed class and I certainly would not have started wearing smaller clothing to stick on the pole in front of men.

We had a special guest a male performer (he was in a musical that was traveling through our city) come to our studio and take a few classes and the girls didn’t seem to bothered by it as long as it was just a few classes and they had a heads up so they could wear something a little less revealing. When asked if the class could be co-ed only 3 of us were okay with that. I am fine with it to a degree. If there was a man in the class that was not there to learn or was making the ladies feel uncomfortable I would not like it.

Here is what I would like to see in a perfect world there would be classes for men and for women and coed classes. That way everyone could go to the classes they felt comfortable in. I would be comfortable in any class now that my skill level has improved substantially and I don’t care as much about how fat my belly is because I can hang upside down by my toes…..okay that is an exaggeration but it just feels so good when I master a something new I don’t care but again I did care a lot when I first started.

Thanks! I will look into all the options and once I take my ACE exam I will have one in mind. Since most of them count as continuing education it would probably be wise to wait until then. I just want to be prepared.

Veena did you mean the lessons here on the website? If so I am already a member and I plan to go through them all. If there is something else of course I am interested. I do love your teaching methods.
