I have filmed a few times and I feel the same way I have them for my personal use if I share one it is probably after I changed about 12 times to find something that hides my physical imperfections. Then I have to edit or at least try to edit out all the stupid stuff I did and I have found it is just too much work.

On the other hand in class there are a ton of ladies who complement me all the time and don't share the same opinion of my body and my mistakes as I do so I think I am most likely over critical of myself both in what I can do and how I look doing it. I have noticed that a good 75% of the women I have met in life are this way not just in pole though. We see all of our flaws and we even imagine some that are not there. I think a lot of women are somehow wired to have a hard time accepting they are good at something or that they look good.

I like them both they are supportive and my girls stay in. The one we were both looking at buying is a little better but both are pretty good. I got more for the price than any of the so called sports bras that do not hold me in. The only issue I have with them is there is no padding on either of them. So if you wear them without a top and you get say cold everyone will know.

I did get one of the ones you had listed I had about a dozen things in my cart and decided on two to start with I figured if I liked them then I could shop more. So I got the top one you had a link to in black. The other was http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_H87854.html?pid=17151&Shop=Style&SID=518008665

They look to be pretty full coverage I just don't know how much support there will be but for the price I had to try and I am sure I can use them for stretching if they don't work out. I will try to remember to come back here and let you know but if I don't feel free to message me to remind me.

Sure I will let you know I went with the cheapest shipping so they won't be here for at least a week.

I think they all look nice as a matter of a fact I just ordered a few…. not the same ones but I tend to have the same problem I wear a regular bra and sports bra or a bralette over it. I am fine wearing 2 bras but it would be nice if I could find two that hold me in so I guess I will find out if these work better than what I am doing now.

I do think there is a difference in exotic dancing and pole dancing. First I know some places people are actually trained for exotic dancing but most of our area hires anyone who looks good without clothes on or at least that is what I gather since I don't frequent strip clubs. We have had a few strippers come to one or two classes at the studio and quit. I am not sure why but I think they either think it is too hard or they don't like to be corrected on their form since they have taught themselves. Even if you live in an area where you get some training for you pole moves in a strip club I think there is a big difference in the motivation. Strippers are paid to be erotic to bring out the desire in men but even they will vary in thier motivation. To some it will just be a job and to some they just love being sexy. It is the same way in our fitness classes some of the ladies love the whole package they want to feel sexy and they want to get fit. Personally I do like to feel sexy but more than anything I like the challenge of hitting that next move. I like the gymnastics and could spend an entire class just practicing the strength related moves. So I really guess it depends on how you want to define the difference.

I am a whatever you want kind of gal when it comes to names. We usually don't come in with stage names but some of us end up with them but I don't think anyone would object to someone having one. We respect everyone and the relationships I have built through pole have actually taught me a lot about how to better respect others and what they choose even if you don't find it to be something you like.

I am not discreet anymore for the most part except maybe when I am working. I don't have a traditional job but when someone asks me what I do for fitness while I am in a booth selling organic tea I will usually say I take dance classes. I don't want to drive a customer away, Any other medium even church I tell them exactly what I do and what it has done for me. If they don't like it they can find someone else to talk to and if they need to do so they can pray for me because I am sure it makes them feel better to think they can bring me back from the dark side.

As for the family sport thing I would think that classes for younger people would be great but maybe tone down the sexy and focus on the gymnastic side. I think more than anything though some of the things we talk about in our classes would hopefully change with younger girls in the room. So yes I think it could be family oriented but I don't think really young girls should be in the same classes or there should be a separate family class. The last thing is I believe a studio teaching under 18 year olds might have to have a much larger liability policy. I am not sure most places would like to take on the responsibility of a child climbing a pole. Children are often overconfident in their abilities.

As for this site and age requirements I think it is a must for anyone teaching online lessons that could easily injure someone. If a parent wants to sign up and take the responsibility I am sure they can, Also I think that there are appropriate things to talk about with children around and inappropriate things and most communities like this are full of things that young children do not need to hear. I am sure it would be find for a teen but at that point a parent can decide.

My mom thinks its great after seeing what I do. At first a little of her conservatism came out but after seeing how much of a work out it was and how much I enjoy it she has my back. I love my mom but had I started this when she was in her CRAZY conservitive phase she would have been emabrrased. Now she just seems to feel the need to explain to her conservative freinds that it is like gymnastics. I am sure it took some getting used to for her but she didn't make a big deal of it. I am also sure she doesn't tell certian people what I do for exercise but I don't blame her after some of the reactions I have had. Some people seem to think that pole dancing means I am a slut and I will do anything with anyone those are the people that will never change so there is no sense in trying to explain anything to them.

Just glad to publicly say that my mom ROCKS!

I think it is good to lean both sides but I always tend to learn on one side first then work on getting the other side. I have a brain that just doesn't like to turn things around so I have a lot of trouble learning both sides at the same time. Once I have one side down pretty good it makes it easier for me to reverst the move. Now that I have been doing it for awhile though I see the benifit of learning it on both sides because I tend to have a lot more muscle on one side than the other and it kind of looks funny. I am sure there will always be an inbalance but if you work both sides you will not see such a huge difference.

July 20, 2012 at 8:11 pm in reply to: HELP!! Strugging with Inverting

I love inversions and I would rather be upside down that upright on the pole not sure why but I just love it. I trained my core by trying it over and over again and I got a pull up bar and I try to pull up like you would in a normal pull up then I use my core to isolate my core and try to pull my V shaped legs up as high as I can.

I just keep plugging away at it because I want to be able to invert up high and I am getting pretty close. I don't think we call anything by the same name at my studio so is the flying V looks something like the helicopter that we do. Except we don't rock back into it we kind of flair the legs out and drop the head quickly. It is my favorite move. I was afraid to invert at first once I lost my fear I couldn't stop.

You will get there just keep at it and be carful not to hurt yourself. I have not looked at all the strength exercises here yet but my instructor has me working on straight leg lifts now slow and controlled at the side of the pole to develop the muscles for an invert up high. She had me demonstrat one with v legs and I did it fine but the straight leg lift was a lot harder.

July 18, 2012 at 8:06 pm in reply to: Wrist pain?

I think you should have it checked out I have sore wrists from time to time but a day or two off and I am back to normal. There is a nice woman in my class that will not do the split grip because she fractured a bone in her forearm and didn't know it. She just kept going at it so she suggests being very careful as do I after breaking my hip and walking on it for almost 2 months. I don't mess around with chronic pain any more.

It could be nothing but it is better to be sure!

I have kind of a crunching sound during warm up but it goes away after the muscles are warm. I would be worried if it was like that all the time but then again I broke my hip and walked on it for almost two months so I am overly cautious now.

I don't think 30 minutes a day is a waste of time at all. I used to go to a trainer that said that 30 minutes was a waste of time but he had me doing an hour of cardio each day he said if you did not burn fat until you had your heart rate up for at least 20 minutes then after that you would start burning fat. He insisted that I do at least 60 minutes everyday. Then ad my weight training for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week.

I still don't believe that any exercise is a waste of time it may not get you the same results as an intense routine but it should still produce results. Everything active you do helps you to maintain a healthy body.
