I’m not sure if this topic works for a rant but I’m curious to hear your thoughts on poling while pregnant? Is it possible, do people push themselves too hard to do it…I’ve seen some polers who are still flipping and flying through the air weeks into their pregnancies. Then others who can barely manage to move. I want to have kids someday but losing out on months of pole seems so disheartening, esp bc I don’t have a long history of movement pre-pole and don’t think I’d be that flying squirrel pregnant poler hahaha. Another rant idea = should pole be in the Olympics (and that whole debate).

Love these rants, Veena! Can’t wait to hear what you cover next! I’ve been putting them on while I’m driving or making dinner, haha.

Only if it were not remotely sexual, but even so, they’d prob watch other performances that were and I would feel second-hand cringe. I’ve realized that it doesn’t really matter WHY I feel the way I do – I just do. I just wouldn’t want them there, and that’s that. I don’t need an explanation for it. You don’t have to prove anything to them or even yourself – if you’re uncomfortable with certain people being there, don’t invite them. As time goes on, your feelings may change, but, for right now – they are what they are! One of the most helpful things I ever learned in therapy was to “accept that I can’t accept” – literally, accept that I’m just not able to accept something as it is. It sounds strange but accepting that can’t accept something yet is helpful in just “letting it be”.</div>
I hope that, whatever you choose, your performance is stellar and you have fun while you’re there 🙂 That’s what’s most important.
