I know what you mean…
What helped me, was to realize, that you don’t have to be able to do certain tricks or dance at a very high level to be successful. All you Need to do is be unique.
There are many pole dancers, who don’t have superhuman strength or flexibility, but still are different from others and shine through their personality.
And others, who do have superhuman strength and flexibility, but all I think is: Yep, another trickster. And forget them soon after.
So don’t try to be someone else, cherish what you CAN do, and accept what you can’t 🙂

What is the pendulum spin?

If the audience is not from our little pole world, then they are amazed by anything inverted where you don’t hold yourself with your hands, leg hangs, car/ckr and the like.

Phoenix Kazree & Chrystal Belcher!

Maybe you can find an no-name resistance band on Amazon or ebay. That’s where I got mine from. I live in Germany though but I bet since they’re probably coming from China they will be available in the US or UK or where ever you’re from 😉
I like mine! I paid around $16. -
Yes it’s possible! I’m placing my calf against the pole, using skin contact. It’s easier the more flexible you are, because the Skin contact increases with how much you can spread the legs.
The hard point is to not slide out of it and loosing the grip with the bottom leg when pushing your hip out. -

I agree 100%.
And I think it is totally legitimate that you have to pay in order to get something of value.Honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am if I didn’t find this site. I learned so much here, and it was an awesome preparation to become a teacher myself.
I had a discussion about the whole money issue with a friend who also runs her own studio. We came to the conclusion, that of course it is nice to offer something for free or very few money, but then People don’t see it’s value. She actually had to raise her prices and guess what: she has now more students than before. Because they believe that paying a higher price means they get something superior.
Also from personal observation, I noticed that if something doesn’t cost anything, it seems not worth anything either to many people. If you have to work hard in order to get something (lessons, car, house, …) you treat and view it differently than you would if you could constantly have everything for free or without any effort. -
I too feel that the headline is a bad choice of words. I do get the Point though. She demonstrates very good form, and I totally agree that everyone should work on these things until you can do them pretty before moving on. I’ve seen so many people who want that one trick, that is currently the rage, no matter what it takes and how to get into it, just to get that one photo to post on social media. I wish they would just get back and practise pretty climbing and inverting.
To me, the hardest trick is bs if you can’t get in and out safely and with good form. -
One of my studets (Nadja) has entered the video challenge!! I’m so proud of her! She started poling last year in May, and of course hers is my favorite Video 😉
If you like it, you can vote for her on here: https://www.unitedpoleartists.com/video-challenge-voting/ -

I bought a balance pad for my knee, the kind of things physio therapists use. That helps a lot! And my heel I place on a yoga block and put a towel underneath to help the block slide better. I guess you could cut that Balance pad in two pieces and put the other half under your heel as well. They’re really comfy

Haven’t read everything, but if you still need some inspiration, you can visit our YouTube channel; we have a few choreos online: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ2SdNaehHWREGCeljL_fzQ
Also, we have some videos of routines and combos on our Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Star-Poledance/558456957523307 -
I don’t know if that helps, but I wouldn’t feel awkward if a lesbian would fancy me, although I’m pretty sure I’m straight. So keep calm 🙂
I think the mojority of straight women aren’t as homophobic as straight men. -
I just want to share my personal experience:
I opened a small studio together with a friend 1.5 years ago. I enjoy it a lot. I not only enjoy teaching, but also everything else that comes with managing a business.
BUT I have another “regular”, secure job that pays my bills. I don’t think it would be as much fun to run a Business if I had to depend on it. I would propably always worry a lot more like I do now, and that in return would propably show and affect the business.
The other thing is, I’m often too tired to train for myself, so I don’t really get to learn new stuff. I even lost some stuff I already could do. Of course there are other parts in which I improve, that is perfecting the things I already can do; if you have to show them really slow and over and over again, that helps a lot!Just a few things to consider. Hope it helps.
Maybe you could finish your degree and start working part time? That would give you some security and a good balance.
Even if you don’t work in psychology after graduationg, you have a backup where you can support yourself immediately if things don’t work out the way you wish…
If you can afford it, why not take a year off… But it might be hard to get back if you realise it’s not what you hoped it would be. -

He once in a while tried a move on the pole and sometimes we trained together. But now, as I own a studio and teach classes, he’s in my advanced class and also comes to my strong & flexi class and is doing pretty well. He even tries dance moves like pirouettes and spins; his latest achievement is a floor body wave which is kinda hilarious 😀
I’m really proud of him and would like do do a doubles routine with him some day 🙂I also now though, that he is sometimes upset when I, having two jobs, don’t find the time to do a lot of housekeeping, so it’s up to him. I’m trying to do as much as I can though. Also, him being a gamer, I try to play with him once in a while and listen to his telling me about Championships and such.
