Leen Isabel, I would like to get 10 more books for my studio. How much do I need to add for shipping?

Sort of emberrassing, but I forgot about my grandma’s birthday on Saturday 16th. So we can’t start our travel before Saturday evening anyways :-/

Thanks for the tips though, we’ll consider them for our next trip.

LOL. Well, you might be right. I just thought it would be nice to have a “pole” product (would propably sell better at the studio as well). Plus, coconut taste sounds amazing. And I liked that they contain GSM, MSM and omega-3 too.

I know there’s propably no big difference to other products though.
Just ordered a sample pack (all 5 flavours in a small amount), we’ll see how long it’ll take to get here.

I was wondering if by now someone has used / is using Fusion for Pole and can give a review?

I’m more a pole “dance” person. I could watch Alethea doing body waves and floorwork thew hole day, or Karol doing spins and pirouettes, or Cleo doind headrolls. Of course I like the tricks that they do as well, but the whole performance would be nothing worth if the dancing would be missing! Here on SV I rather watch the freestyle dances and performances than the tricks clips.

As to the intro question, yes, it sometimes IS discouraging, especially when I don’t train as much as I would like to and the progress therefore is so much slower then I’d like it to be.
For example, since I got my elbow grip Ayesha (it’s now 8 months ago) I still don’t feel comfortable with split grip Ayeshas, and I sometimes think I should be way further in my progress.
Same with flexibility; I teach a strong & flexi class 3 times a week and sometimes find the time to do one more stretching session just for myself, but since I startet (over one and a half year ago) I just made it 2 inches closer to the floor in my splits. So sometimes it makes me mad when I see people doing rainbow marchenko (allthough most times I think that getting into it and moving out of it is not pretty).
I know I propably won’t be able to achieve that (and other) trick(s).

Sometimes I even feel like a cheater, because I sometimes get the feeling that as a poler you are only measured by the tricks you can do. And I can only do few.
So that might be a reason (besides time issues) that I haven’t posted videos for a long time.

I have both, ss and chrome (and TG and brass too) in my studio. You can hardly see a difference in ss and chrome, just the ss seems to have a slightly blue shade compared to chrome wehn you look at both.
I don’t think there is much of a difference in grip, I just find that the ss spreads temperature a litte (!) more even (wich is nice). Of course it’s more durable, since the chrome is only a layer, but if you know there will never be people touching your pole with fingerr rings, you can save the extra $$ for the ss and get a chrome pole.

Wow! When I asked, Xpole UK told me they won’t be out before the end of the year! So maybe there is some hope that they will start selling them soon in Europe as well? Can’t wait for them and the powder coated!

Have to add, it would be a lot easier if I didn’t have a “regular” job. This consumes at leat hours a week. But of course, it gives a lot of safety so I won’t quit that.

What poledanceromance mentions is definetly true.

I still progress, but in a different manner than before. Since I teach a strong & flexi class 3 times a week I really see a progress in flexibility. I’ve always been lazy with that (because I actually hate stretching and the progress is so slow), but having to teach that class forces me to. So that’s a good point.
Another good thing is, that I so much more focus on propper form, because of course I want to teach everything not only safe but also pretty!

So I have a plus in flexibility, fluidity and form.

BUT! I don’t have much time to practice on new tricks. After class I’m often too tired and keep it simple or just go home.

I’m trying to do a workshop or a private or at least a jole jam with fellow advanced students once a week. I sometimes really miss being a student. Well I never took classes regularly because of the lack of a good studio in my area which was ok, but now I’d love to have a place I can go to every week and have someone tell me what to do.

    No problem, miekel!
Just send me a mail when you want to come over!
In October we have Arlene Caffrey at our studio for some workshops, she’s super sweet and the workshops will be great fun!

AerialGypsy, I didn’t know about that it is that way in the US! Sounds pretty stupid to me. Maybe she can have split the appartment and rent the “studio room” seperatly and have two contracts, one for the appartment and one for the stuio allthough it’s in the same building?

If this is not an option, maybe just look out for another small room. Our room was a baking factory before. We had to put in a lot of money to make it a studio, but the rent is really low and most students don’t care if it’s in the major shopping area (where rents are incredibly high) or a little outside in an industrial zone.

If you want to take a look, here are pics of our studio. The very last pic ist what it looked like when we moved in: http://www.star-poledance.de/index.php/studio

Here! I’m from Weilerswist, close to Cologne! I own a small studio, so if you want to come over for a pole jam1 that would be great!

We have all the finishes in our studio XPole has available (and once they start selling the powder coated, we’ll have that as well). Most poles are 45mm, but we do have one 40mm and one 50mm, because we wanted to be able to give the best advice and have our student try them out.
However, until now we only sold chrome. Most girls don’t like the golden look of the TG, some don’t like the look & smell off the brass and the stainless is just too expensive (and so is brass). So it’s not only the grip that factors into the decision.
For me, I most times practise on the TG and I like it. My boyfriend usually takes the brass so I didn’t really get the chance to use it, but I find it really sticky (and I’m not an overly sweaty type of person). I also like the stainless. It’s highly polished and looks nicer than the chrome (the older ones were brushed and didn’t have a good grip I heard) and I find it is as grippy than the chrome but feel like heat is distributing more equally when it get’s warmed up which is a plus.
