I’ve been tring to do it from the floor, and from a pole climb, but it seems that I can’t move my junk around!! At least I’ve stopped nailing my bust.
The other move I’m having trouble with is the spinning (back) descend from a climb. I feel like I’m crushing and rolling over my right arm, and have trouble swinging my leg around for momentum.
….and oh yes, slinking down from a pole sit. Grrrrr. But I’ll never give up on any of it!! You guys shouldn’t either!

Ive just begun inversions, and did not use a yoga mat or crash pad. I will add that my instructor was really big on teaching us how to grip, and different ways to descend prior to actually inverting.
I’ve also noticed that she had us focus on strength, and leg grip, before it was even presented to us. I’m sure that’s why we all were so confident attempting the move.

We began inverting on my class about two weeks ago. I inverted on both sides in class, with some help from mu instructor, but when I came home, I couldn’t do it.
When I returned to class, I admitted to her that I wasn’t sure if I was engaging my core properly. I also began doing mandatory crunches and invert drills whenever I could find the time (and holding my core/abs tight as much as I can remember).
A couple of nights ago, I inverted properly about three times on my right side. As of tonight, I can invert properly on the right side a lot easier. However, it is still difficult for me to do I on my left. I think it’s a mind thing, though.
I share your excitement, and I am super encouraged by my (and all of your) progress. I’m also really happy to have an instructor that teaches proper form, and strength training prior to showing us the moves.

Cheers to you!!
I am having such a problem getting the cradle. I can't seem to get the pole lower in my midsection/seat area, or hold the moves for several revolutions. I keep bruising my thigh. What worked for you?

Same problem, here. I found this out while doing the floor prance (sexy legs) on the floor. My instructor reminds us to straighten our legs to get the full effect of the exercise, and that is when I discovered that my legs felt tight, like there was a rubber-band not permitting me to straighten my legs. I have been working on stretching, mainly my hamstrings, and I think this should help.

Hey. I have a LMR Black, Painted pole, and a Xpole (50mm chrome) and I am in the process, like picking up-next week, a Stainless Steel rotator from a seller I've found. If i weren't getting a great deal, on a pole that I am familiar with, I would look into a brass pole. Funny enough, there is a building on 72nd street that has an overlay, with brass legs, and I'm ALWAYS passing by there, and doing a hold/lift on their pole.
I had been happy with my LM pole for some time, until I started taking classes at a studio, and found that I can spin (on stationary), and slide (ex. exit a superman, slink down) smoother. I too have torn my skin due to the stickiness of the pole. I do not plan on selling my painted Rotator, but either having both up, or switching out the poles from time to time. I also had the problem with the screw in the ceiling. This prevented me from tightening my pole. But my husband has placed a wooded piece there, and now it is not a problem.
The XPole is kept in my bedroom, and I find it to be slippery. This isn't a big deal, because you get more grip, as you warm the pole. I don't use it as often because of space, and my room is usually freezing, but since my bedroom is carpeted, and my poleroom is not, I can practice different things comfortably. Plus hubby demands we keep it there. Lol!

I’m going to both ceremonies (again). I saw Karol’s submission video, and I can’t wait! They, like so many of the members here, inspire me incredibly!!! I’d love to meet you guys in person!

@ poleophile- I have the S-factor DVD’s, and I am surely going to pop them in every now and then thanks to your comment. I’ve been really focusing on flexibility. Thanks!

There is a member by the name of Dangerous on SV. Her floorwork is amazing. Also, if you look into some of the SV challenge archives, there was a months of floorwork videos that you could link to.
Here is a link to a Dangerous vid:

MemberDecember 10, 2010 at 12:16 am in reply to: STACEY NEMOUR’s Secrets of Splits & FlexibiltyI bought this DVD and a set of ankle weights and I’m pretty impressed with my results so far. This DVD is her showing you how to do these stretches in great detail, but you can NOT go at her pace and expect any improvements. YOU HAVE TO PAUSE THE DVD ON EVERY MOVE TO GET A GOOD STRETCH. The exercises she does with the ankle weights are quite a workout and it defiantly helps improve flexibility.
FYI: I also bought one of her other DVDs, Stretching For The Least Flexible People On Earth to help my hubby with tight hip flexors and knee pain. I wouldn’t recommend that DVD to anyone for the price. It was produced in a shabby office space and didn’t provide information or techniques as good as Secrets of Stretch and Flexibility. She is very encouraging though. Hope this helped.
Where did you download this from? Site?? -

Hope that helps. =)
Yes, that’s it! I think I’ve got it. I’m trying it in my "Waiter" video upload around 3:28. I think I need to bring my body in closer, and widen my kicks. Ahhhh stretching!!

do you have a video? lol i mean you got that term from somewhere….
to me it sounds like you are describing the kind of climbing i usually see leigh ann doing. i’d search for leigh ann orsi in youtube and see if that’s what ur talking aboutKinda. I mostly see her doing more of a spin-climb. I’ll have to look into this one later on spinny. I can do it on static. I LOVE that she has legs for days! Helps me figure out what to do with mine. LOL!!
