Hey sparrow, and Lina, and everyone! sorry I have been gone from the internet for so long. Sassylina texted me to tell me about this discussion, lol.. I’m planning to get back on here and start making videos again after I move and set up my new pole room. I’ve been skyping with platinum ani and poling with my maui pole sisters on Sundays like usual! just not making vids. Haven’t progressed all that much, still working on my Ayshas. But finally got my tg handspring which I thought would never happen! Excited to pole more after the move to Oregon next week. 😀

Hey girl, sorry to hear about your troubles! I had the implants removed, without any other procedures. My surgeon did it in her office with just a local anesthesia. It was a while ago, but I think it took me a couple of weeks to heal and be able to do normal activities, and about 6 weeks before I could pole. 🙂

Alethea’s set has sold out, not sure if they updated the website yet..

I just ordered a fly gym, so thought I would join this thread.. Am also interested in using it with the pole, and how far away to hang it, etc.. Fly gym has a yt channel that has tutorials for using with pole.. 🙂

Yes, you can definitely mount it on a block of wood. I have the same pole (9-10 feet), but note there is only 9ft of usable pole.. so I would get the taller pole that charley suggested. I would have ordered a 10-11 ft model if I had known about it at the time. I think it’s only $20 more.

oops, sorry Luvlee, forgot to answer your question! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif What has really helped me is to have regular practice days, and do some stretching after every pole session, if possible. I also use DVD's alot, and Skype once a week on saturdays.. it gives me something to look forward to during the week..

I'm glad you started this thread, Luvlee https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif because I feel exactly the same way.
I really liked what Veena wrote.. because it made me see that I actually DO make myself feel guilty, if I don't push myself to practice when I don't feel like it, or if I have a bad practice, or if I get tired after only a half hour (which happens alot!). I promised myself I wouldn't use my age as an excuse, but at the same time I don't expect to be able to progress like a 25 year old. I have about half of the energy I had then, LOL. I guess we have to find a happy medium – between pushing ourselves really hard, to just poling to have fun and get some exercise. But the reality is, if we want those advanced tricks, there is alot of work and practice involved, and pole is not easy! So give yourself some credit, girl, you should be proud of yourself!!!!

wow, i'm glad i saw this thread.. thanks everyone for all the helpful tips, i am going to try it next practice. i have the opposite problem as Kyrsten – i can do my teddy from the floor, but have failed every time from up on the pole. not sure i have enough/any tailbone/low back contact on the pole, that is most likely my problem (extremely bony sacrum/tailbone)
