@chemgoddess – i just read your post. i installed my rotator today, with the vaulted ceiling mount. actually, my neighbor (who is a builder) did it for me, and i helped. i read the instruction manual very carefully, and the part about never trying to extend the pole while it is on the mount. but he said that it would be okay to go up there and gently give it a few twists (emphasis on gently) until i felt a little resistance, if the pole needed tightening. rather than take it down. it did need tightening, which i realized after testing it out (because the base moved from it's spot on the floor). so i went up there and gave it a couple of turns. however, this makes me really nervous!! the manual says not to do that. does this apply to the vaulted ceiling mount as well? thanks!!
ps. i don't have any plans to take this pole down – ever! unless something really crazy happens and we have to move.

hi all! i just got the lil' mynx rotator. i have a question for verucablue and anyone else who has one.. mine is really noisy! the screw that locks it into static mode is not snug in the slot, and the pole bangs against the screw on both sides of the screw. when it's in spin mode, the bottom of the pole rubs against the top of the screw and makes a scraping sound. is that normal? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
i will contact lil' mynx but though maybe you ladies would know…

thank you so much everyone for the advice! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif
@polergirl – i was hoping it would be enough to have every student sign a waiver on real paper, lol, when they first arrive. when i took some classes at the other studio on the island, i had to sign a waiver before my first class. but maybe she also has something on her site. will def. go and look! by the way her name is amanda, and her studio is the pole room in lahaina (northwest shore). i am on the north shore "upcountry"
@horsecrazy – i wish everyone were closer, LOL. thanks, honey!

thanks everyone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif i plan on adding a few more pages to the website.
@emotioncatcher – so far, i don't have a company or LLC. maui doesn't seem to have any laws about teaching classes out of your home. for example, there is a tomato farm up the road that has a yoga studio. i don't think there are any laws for websites here that i know of..
and i am going to add another page on classes. i will probably be doing mostly private lessons (or small groups) since i only have the two poles. i haven't made any prices yet. i may just do it by donation, or sliding scale, $10-$20. just to keep it simple.
@kaylie – yay! it will be great to meet you!

sorry, i was talking about the mat that feeden mentioned – from pole dance mat co.uk. it is a 6 inch mat, and they also have 4 inch. i thought if i'm going to get one, might as well spend a little more and get the 6 inch. haven't heard back about the shipping yet..
-
thanks, feeden! i got to the paypal checkout and it said the shipping was only 15 pounds. i emailed them to double check, because it seemed pretty cheap for hawaii.
-
thanks webbie! it's 184 us dollars. i could have figured that out, but wanted to see if anyone had even seen or tried these mats. i had never heard of them before.
i'm thinking i may just have to cover my big crash mat with a different fabric that isn't a magnet to cat hair. LOL. that might be a cheaper solution to the problem. 🙂

thanks everyone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif the lulu does seem thin, but looks like it is good quality. the price is 139 in Euro's (not sure how much that is in US dollars?) plus 67 shipping to hawaii.
i like the crash mat that i made. you could fall from the top of the pole and probably be fine. it's also very comfortable to sleep on (in case of extra guests). the only problem is, i covered it with a satin-y black sheet, and my cat likes to get on it, and it gets covered in white fur. she sheds constantly. i have to clean it with a lint roller, lol. so i folded it in the corner and covered it with some extra black cloth, tucking in the sides – but my cat found a way to get inside. she likes to climb under sheets apparently. so now i have cleaned it again, folded up tight in the corner and wrapped in a bedspread, with a pillow on top – for her. i just don't know if i want to keep messing with it, lol.

i love my PS pole. however, the star stand alone looks cheap, and not impressive at all. trying to be nice, lol..
