@Empyrean – I still plan on taking your course.  I just had a major expense though, so it might be a little while!

I didn't realize that there was a difference between certification and certificate of completion.  how is it different?  does that just mean that upon completion of your advanced course, you are certified as an ETED instructor?

just to clarify for others –  angel gives a "certificate of completion of the discoveries dance instructor certifcation course"  so I guess that Empyrean's course gives the same kind of certificate.  i apologize for giving wrong information!

thanks!  i already have the PS one-piece in SS.  eventually i want to get a second pole, though!  i wish there were some way i could try a brass one before buying – but for the cost of going to the mainland to get to a studio would be as much as buying the pole, lol 😀

Omg! That’s so funny! ETED’s is also very good but you don’t get a certification until you complete the advanced training, which can’t be done by distance. You have to go to a live training for it. I loved angel’s course 🙂

Emotioncatcher – I just completed the discoveries dance training home study option. Angel sends you manuals and a DVD, and there is a lot of anatomy! I thought it was excellent. In fact I,ve been meaning to post about it but been busy 🙂

Sorry my iPad got stuck while I was typing that! I too would like to start a studio, maybe at my home. I like the idea of not having to take the poles down.

@miss kitty – I am considering a brass one piece. I already have the ceiling mount (vaulted). Is 10′ too tall to have a 45? If so I could live with a 50, but I already have a 50 SS

hi lyme, i always have my dominant (right) hand on the bottom, which means i invert to the left of the pole.  the best advice i can give for not letting that leg drift away, is try to keep your chest square to the pole.  i had the same problem.

chem, can it be done on a stainless steel PS pole?  not sure i want to do it though – i live in a warm humid climate, don't want to rip my skin or anything!

I highly recommend the Pole Room in Lahaina!  Amanda is awesome.  she has a website where you can register for a class (class size is limited so register in advance).  it's the only pole studio on the island at this time.  she has two l'il mynx SS 50mm poles.

unfortunately, Fit4aGoddess is no longer here – it was in Haiku (at Upcountry fitness).  The owner is hoping to get into a new location for the New Year.  I live in Haiku but it's a little far from Kihei.   hope you have a great vacation!!

so sorry to hear this, scandalicious  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif  i hope you find something that will bring in some cash quick.  i don't know anything about those sites.  i'm like chem, though, would rather work in a club.  it almost seems safer to me..  good luck, hun!!

the same thing happened to me when i ordered the tite grip II.  except they did send the new formula, i just thought it was the old.  how to tell – if the tube says "for hands and feet that sweat" then it is the new formula.  note – it is still orange, just lighter orange.  it does not say lavender, contain lavender, or smell like lavender.  i know, strange.

i have basically given up on grip aids.  i do like to rub some itac 2 on my body – inner thighs, back of knees, sides, and under arm – then leave whatever is left on my hands, and it does help.  i clean my pole with alcohol.  i live in a humid climate, and this is all that has worked for me.  everything else seems to make things more slippery than normal.
