OMGosh Amcut those bellydancers can be so snobby. They have their own little dancing clique and I’m so not into that stuff. Even in HS I was the girl going, "Can’t we all get along?" I mean, they are working to get rid of stereotypes and myths but so are we! Why can’t be band together and be sisters/brothers in arms? I just didn’t like the whole "My sexy dance is cleaner or better or more authentic than your sexy dance". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif Oh and one lady was like, "I wouldn’t mix bellydance with your pole dance." And I just thought…. "Beeetch, I’ll do what the faaack I want!" Bellydance didn’t actually start in brothels, it was a private dance that girls shared with each other. Probably once the Europeans found out about bellydance they wanted to see it and the only place women could do that was in brothels. Isn’t that sort of like many forms of dance though? They start out in the streets or in speak-easies but they climb their way up in society? Sheesh… Let it go! Love love love!

ughk. I can’t stand people who think they are so cool and into what they do in that manner. Kind of elitist, but I have my elitist moments, too. It is like we are all in high school again trying to prove our coolness. Those peoples heads are in some sort of idiot bubble and will never get out of it.
Speaking of..there is a belly dance class coming up at Mannheim gym and I was thinking about signing up for it. It is $60 for a month. Have you seen anything on it yet?

It’s good that you guys are going to talk things out. I push my hubby to talk to me even if he doesn’t want to or says, "I’m tired, not now." I always say, "No, NOW!" By the end of our convo we are tired but we know why we were pissed. *hugs*I am always insist on talking immediately, too. We have been trying for six months. I am going on a mini vacation next week to see if the heart grows fonder.
I don’t feel that the way I dance now is sexual in nature. I do it for me.And that is the way it should be… dancing is something very personal.

I always tell my sister that Lady Gaga got it right in her song where she just wants to go dance and forget about everything else. I’ve been on the pole for almost a year. I’ve given the hubby 2 shows, birthday and anniversary. I just get nervous and stupid when he watches, even if the camera is on. I’ve seen many posts from others expressing the same thing.
Nervous and stupid is spot on for me. I just act dopey. I did the obnoxious butt wipe because if it wasn’t THAT BAD I was going to post it on here. I even pointed and talked to the camera. At the end I crawled to turn the camera off with a pain face because my floor is mean.
This was a good vent. I feel better now. My husband came out and tried to talk to me about it. We have been having mega issues and this isn’t it. I keep pushing it all to the side and ignoring it though.
ABC’s you are so damn confident. I have already told you that I wish I could be like that.
After all of this whining I am REALLY going to try to post a video of my progression. I have gained so much strength in the past two weeks of poling. I can already invert! I crashed today though. ..whoops. I was wearing pants.

I would totally screw around and seriously practice around girl friends, too. I just don’t feel comfortable dancing around my husband. I don’t feel that the way I dance now is sexual in nature. I do it for me.

I can only hope I can do what you can at two months. I recorded a video of me within my first hour of having my pole. It is HORRIBLE! I can’t keep my arm straight. I pole burned my wrists. Ended up wrapping a pair of undies around it so I could keep going. :desperate!: https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif After wearing panties on my wrist for a while I realized that I can cut a hole in a pair of baby socks and wear them as wrist guards until I go out and by some. My son is 18 months and he looks better playing on the pole than me! He actually kind of fights me for it. So cute.

It was at a club in Heidelberg called 1600. I was pretty effing drunk too. So…I let them. :shame: I seriously woke up the next day feeling soooo guilty. I don’t get out much. I only spent ten euros that night. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif It is good to run in to people your husband knows. The pole is kind of tucked against a wall. That part sucks. The place is ALWAYS packed. I have been there three times now and the faces are all the same. Mostly all Americans in there, too.
