Like the others have stated, there are sensual, sporty and everything in between styles of poling. The important thing is to do what you like and are comfortable with. As far as what others think, that’s their problem.

I know nothing about power lifting so I couldn’t give a reliable answer but I hope there’s no conflict and you get to enjoy poling.

I’m still in. I had the flu over the holidays so my training suffered but I’m getting back into my routine this week.

I do have to be cautious and conscious of my positioning when I do inverted poses that require leg extensions.

Good deal! Enjoy.

I’m looking forward to getting bigger arms. I think nice toned arms are sexy.

Welcome Luna!

I agree Missy. After struggling with a move at home I have gone to class and pulled off the same move with ease. Shoog – I’m also afraid of stunting my progress. I have more time to practice at home than in a studio.

Depending on how much improvement I see with the 50, I may save up to get a 45.

Thanks for all the responses ladies. Yeah Allyson I felt/feel the difference but I thought maybe it’s the finish, maybe it’s the air temperature, maybe I’m not focusing enough at home. I fell into a self made trap of thinking 5mm linear vs 5mm diameter. Doing the math definitely makes it clear.

Good to know it’s not just me. I actually have kind of big hands but my grip just isn’t as good on the 50. I would never have thought 5mm would make that big a difference. Now I know. I’m just going to have to learn to work with it.

I use wrist supports pretty frequently. I have a double whammy of tendinitis and loose-ish joints. The wraps help support and maintain positioning.

Thanks for the responses ladies. Pole is completely different from any other workout I’ve done in the past so I’ll have to be more careful to make sure my water and food intake stays on point.
