don't compare yourself to others, it is your personal journey 🙂

Pole is bloody hard work but the best workout ever 🙂

You will become addicted and obsessed and spend hours on forums and watching pole videos 😉

You will be mortified at wearing skimpy shorts to begin with but the more experienced you get the smaller those shorts will get 🙂

You will discover muscles you never know existed 😉

I bought my xpert from ebay about 6 months ago and it is wonderful 🙂 it is the older screw together one but it is perfect. I made sure there was a picture of the packaging and instructions to make sure it was genuine before bidding. My friend got her xpole sport around the same time from ebay and it had never been used. If you are careful who you buy from, ie check feedback etc then there are some real bargains on ebay. I have been buying for years from ebay, we even bought a car a few years ago and apart from 2 incidents where we didnt get our goods (we did get our money back for those) I have never had a problem. Good luck 🙂

Don't be too hard on yourself, focus on what you can do and not what you can't do, and don't compare yourself to others in your class 🙂

I'm 45 and have been poling for 7 months with no previous gymnastics or dance experience, and poling is bloody hard! It's also amazing fun and rising to the challenges is great. There are certain moves (stupid cupid and vile superman) that I have been working on for a month now, still can't do them but instead of worrying that I won't get them I focus on what I can already do and this keeps me motivated.

Inverting is the hardest thing ever, focus on the fact you can invert, then as your leg strength improves you will be able to let go, it will get easier trust me, just remember to take it one step at a time, and dont worry how quickly/slowly everyone else progresses, this is your journey and yours alone 🙂 x

I have a 40mm metre square jigsaw mat (the kind you find in martial arts studios) I’ve cut a hole in it and popped it round my pole, it acts as my crash mat and smooth surface to dance on, you can pick them up cheaply, it’s what my pole teacher uses and advised I got, works brilliantly

Oh I always dream I can do the best routines and freestyle (in reality I'm totally crap lol) I have the best music and do the best tricks, it does inspire me to work harder….. I also cannot hear a piece of music now without imagining a routine…. hubby often looks at me and asks if I'm poling in my head again LOLhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
