Check for items from the Trashy.com masochist and toxic collections on eBay, they have a lot of combinations that would be great for pole, but that might be a bit too expensive to purchase retail. Myself and my friends have had great luck finding Trashy.com fetish lingerie and costumes on eBay for serious discounts.

Also have a look for Darque/Coquette which is carried online at Yandy.com. Finally there are a lot of amateur latex fashions creators. A quick search for latex fetish wear will bring you to a bunch of different options. I like Westward Bound and House of Etiquette as starting points, but if you find yourself a lower scale creator they will usually make outfits to your specifications. Try signing up for Fetlife.com and check out the various latex lovers groups to find people you can make a deal with. 🙂

Thanks for the responses guys! 🙂

Kyrelle, I had been watching your videos because I saw you mention that you have a short pole, but I got discouraged because your pole which is in reality shorter than mine looks much taller than mine due to what I now realize is our difference in height! I'm 5'8! I can't fully extend my arm to reach the top of the pole because I run out of pole – LOL. It seems like I have ample space over my head but not when you throw limbs into the equation. Gemini seems to come pretty easily from the floor (like from a shoulder rest type of position) so I'm going to try your advice of inverting into the gemini from the get-go. I'm no where near doing a straight edge yet, though, so it's good to hear that most of the moves you're talking about aren't within my reach at this point anyways. Maybe by the time I get to those moves I'll be living in a place with higher ceilings! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I ordered my pole through the Pole Monkey store (they have lots of adverts on Kijiji) and discovered there is a warehouse in Mississauga. You would have to pay taxes, but you can drive there to pick it up or they will ship it to you. You can probably also order from the Xpole site and pick up at the warehouse.

Just an update on my brass: I was down in Erie this weekend and picked up some Corn Husker's lotion for $2.99 as some of the ladies suggested. I put a little on my contact points and my pole and now it's SO GRIPPY. Easily as grippy as a polished brass pole. I'm really happy with it now.

Corn huskers is a glycerin and alcohol based lotion, so I guess this is echoing the advice of donnalee and PoleDollqld.

Gotta update this because I've managed to get the xpole up and I'm using it now. So for now until I move, this is no longer available!

It's difficult to say because I have never danced on a complete titanium gold pole. I've tried a "slide test" I slide my hand down the pole or up the pole and see where it sticks, for me I find the adjuster cover is the grippiest part of my pole (it's also high polish) and that part is titanium gold. I've also been testing this "brushed brass is slippery" theory with doorknobs and faucets, everything I can find.

I have only danced on a chrome pole a handful of times and that was before I had my brass xpole to compare. I think the brushed brass is grippier than chrome for me but only when the brass is all warmed up. You would be better off asking somebody with more experience. My concern with this pole is in the comparison to other brass poles, and my disappointment is just that the finish is not what you would expect, but the pole was still really expensive. When I can move to a place with a higher ceiling I think I will sell my brass xpole and switch to a Platinum Stages multi brass or something similar.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a very nice pole and a neat finish. It's more comfortable for slides and spins if it's warmed up, but on par with a polished brass pole it is not.

My boyfriend has always had a serious fixation with exotic dancers.

I have always been that girl who is too shy to dance at the bar (unless very drunk) not very confident in my sexuality/appearance, etc. I've always loved music and dancing, I simply never had the confidence to exhibit that love. A few years ago I got into fitness and lost a bunch of weight, I got a personal training certification and I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to perform physical feats. I always wanted to try pole dancing classes, I simply never had the impetus to sign up for them!

I had always known my boyfriend was really into strip clubs and exotic dancers, and I didn't mind so much. I know he would never cheat on me or anything like that. My boyfriend doesn't favour monogamous relationships though, so when I found out he had spent a ton of bucks on lap dances a few months ago it made me feel really jealous and competitive! After that I felt compelled to show him up (in a good natured way) and eventually that motivated me to join classes. I figure one day I might dance in a club, make some  money, make it rain on him and then pick it all up and spend it on myself. LOL. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I have the brass x pole and I don't find the finish to be much like a regular brass pole you might encounter in a studio or elsewhere. The brass (and from what I understand the stainless as well) is a brushed finish and simply isn't as grippy as a polished brass pole. That said, I still think the brass xpole is the best option for a multi-piece 45mm brass. Xpole is adamant that the brass pole is solid brass, not plated, but what's the point if the finish doesn't give you what you want in a brass pole anyways? Maybe consider titanium gold. The titanium gold pieces on my pole ironically feel more like brass than the brass pieces due to the high polish.

That said, the brass xpole does get grippier as you tarnish it, warm it up, etc. I have found that in the week or so I've had mine up it has become much easier to use. I had a studio class last night with proper polished brass poles and the grip still doesn't compare, BUT working out so much on my slightly slippery pole has helped build my strength faster and it's very noticeable when using the grippy brass studio poles.

Some things I have tried to get my pole more grippy:

Acetone cleaner, EZ OFF oven cleaner, warming it with a clothes iron. The acetone cleaner did not make it more grippy, the EZ OFF tarnished it and made it much more grippy.

I hope this helps. If you want any pictures or additional first hand info about my experience with the brass xpole let me know.

I just wanted to throw it out there in case anybody is still looking at the brass xpole and thinking "Y U SO SLIPURY!" I managed to get mine up with a piece of plywood on the ceiling and noticed hey, it's kind of slippery for a brass pole! I hit it with EZOFF oven cleaner, let it sit, polished extensively with paper towel, now it has a much shinier and stickier finish. If anyone wants to see pics they shall be on my profile!

I can get the pole up with the 750 mm extension but I’m touching the dome when I reach up. I foolishly didn’t measure the ceiling height because we had another xpole working fine in the upstairs apartment. I’ve been looking for a new place for awhile now, and I think I want to switch to a one piece or multi polished brass pole when I move out. I agree though, xpole has awesome customer service. They helped me no problem with the extension. What was the ceiling issue with your pole?
