I did not have a C section and it was a very easy birth. You need to WAIT!!!!!…. to start poling or do any ab work until you have spoken with your Doctor. Most Doctors will not understand how heavily we use our core in pole and may give you the go too soon!! So be very clear that this is strenuous and much like rock climbing and gymnastics (to give an idea of level of stress on the body) Don’t rush a C section. You’ll be back on the pole in no time Talk with your DR and most importantly listen to your body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

    PS Congrats!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif

Thanks Veena, I was watching your postpartum vids and thinking how in the heck is she doing that 3 weeks out! It hurt my stomach just watching you! I guess I should really take my time and wait. If my dh see’s me working out too soon he will stop doing all the cleaning and running the kids everywhere lol. No but really I am still in so much pain I just really miss working out and dancing so much that I can’t wait to get back on the pole. I guess I will just keep staring at my sweet baby to keep busy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks everyone for letting me know I am not alone. I did make another vid but nothing like the first one! I just dance and right as I turn away from the camera I think of the next move. I even tried writing the moves down on paper on the floor but I still blanked out lol! One day I will get a good one https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I can’t wait till I get the x pole.Have to wait 3 more months https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Right now I have the carmen electra one. The only place I use it is in my basement cause since the ceiling is short I wedged it in there and that baby is not going anywhere! It works for me in the basement but horrible anywhere else.

It does not have a size but I would guess small. It is like a spandic material though so very strechy.

Here’s something I’ve been thinking about… We all have unique anatomy and physiology, so some moves are easier than others. There was a girl in my class tonight who is just friggin AWESOME, but she couldn’t do pole sits! It blew my mind.

What "hard" moves came easy to you? Which "easy" ones were hard?

    For me:
    Easy:
    –Pole sits
–Crossed knee release — I could do this way before I could invert
    –Gemini

    Hard:
–CHOPPER — errr… they present it as easy in class, but it is still very hard for me. I actually got it a few times, tonight, though!
–stationary V — kills my wrist
    –cradle spin
    — butterfly

    Mindy

As for the cradle are you using your good hand? I was having problems but as soon as I used my weak hand on top and my strong hand on bottom I got it. I am currently working on the cartwheel move but I can’t get my legs up straight no matter what I do https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

If its only your grip and you have the position…. then try dampening the towel you use to wipe you pole with, using a bit of alcohol or what ever you clean your pole with. Rub it on your hands and the pole and as soon as its dry….don’t try it with wet hands!!!!! as soon as its dries, try the move. You’ll get better grip but only temporarily. Or try my silly dish washing rubber glove trick….they do stick really well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Omg how funny I have a million of those gloves, does that really work LOL! Just hope my boyfriend does not come down while I am doing it! I would have to say that I was just scrubbing down the basement. He would be like what a good girlfriend lol!

wrist bands saved me! They have some right at walmart for like 3.00. Or I will use a leg warmer but fold it over once so it is not as long. This way it protects my arm from elbow down. Also leg warmers helped me with some spins. I am still working on stregnth in my wrist but it has gotten way better.

Okay stupid question, what are leg raises? I have been working on squats where I am on my tip toes and I try to do about 30 to 50 at a time. I am also having some trouble with my left wrist but it has gotten alot stronger. I try to lift a weight with the back of my hand facing up, like if your looking at a ring on your finger and then I lift it back. Is that right? I will buy the lessons on Tuesday so hopefully those will help me also.
