I’ve start alone with youtube and got Veena lessons after 2 month to realise that i was doing too much, too fast. Since i got a regular workout with a day off in between and good explanation on how to do this i haven’t hurt myself like at did at first and got amazing result.
Take a look at the new 2 pole section in the forum will help you a lot, and don’t go too fast or you will get stuck anyway because you hurt yourself and don’t have the strenght to do more advanced moves. Take more time to get beginner move in perfect control and on both side before going to the next step.
Don’t forget it’s not the destination, it’s the journey https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I use to do sit-up on the pole, at first it was hard but now it’s better. You don’t have to go all the way up, but that will help you. That, and working on pulling your legs up when holding your pole, like you would do for invert (tuck invert).
I have pole sit up in my first video if you want to take a look. -

falling in love with MY dream move: the knee hold, still strugling with it but yeah i got it.
thinking it would take me many years to get some moves like SM because i was too weak, and got it in less than a year…by accident lol.
I remember feeling alone by myself and too shy to talk about my poling, what people would think of me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif And now i have tons of friends on internet and turn myself into a pole-preacher https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Many years ago, asking myself, other than club if there was a way to play on a pole.
For the next year hope i will add: doing a live performance, meeting more poler, more, more and more moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have an in between because i don’t feel safe doing trick just on the floor. So i have stole the big foam puzzle carpet of my kids, good to work out in the playroom https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif It’s firm enough the dance on but give me a little a cushion for emergency landing and more easy on my knees for floor work.
But i still use big mat when working on trick until i’m confortable to do without.
