I think I will start again with the abs cos my husband wants to join in and I have missed 3 days now.
Probably going to keep going with take off, but at this rate I will probably complete it at the end of the month with all today’s (re) starters lol. In my defence, I’ve been going to studio 4-5x week plus free styling and trying to fit in rest days and it hasn’t quite worked. Don’t want to get over training injuries again so would rather proceed slowly if my body starts complaining and creaking.Well done everyone who’s doing it wherever/whatever you’re up to!

Sounds like you’ll be fine.

Hmmm, if you’ve not waxed before I personally wouldn’t risk it just before a comp. You can get irritated goosebumps and red over sensitive skin and I’d be very worried about grip as well as aesthetics – have you got enough time to do a test? Not saying you’d have problems but if you did it could be a bit nightmarish.

I have lost track as been moving stuff round to allow recovery time with classes and training but I’m pretty much up to day 12. With some bits taken out and some bits put in and freestyles sneaking in when I should be doing Abs x 30. Never mind, let’s roll. Onwards!
Cazzz you should get a special prize for never missing a day! And well done on showcase thing!

Key lyric
Until the referee rings the bell
Until both your eyes start to swell
Until the crowd goes home
What we gonna do ya’ll?[Chorus – Ryan Tedder]
Give em hell, turn their heads
Gonna live life ’til we’re dead.
Give me scars, give me pain
Then they’ll say to me, say to me, say to me
There goes the fighter, there goes the fighter
Here comes the fighter
That’s what they’ll say to me, say to me, say to me,
This one’s a fighter -

Can I put in a suggestion for a second challenge? Pole dismounts and mounts. I could REALLY use some creative inspiration….
Love the costume idea too 🙂

My other top tip: wine chilling sleeve. The kind you keep in freezer then wrap round a wine bottle to cool it fast.
This, plus alternately plunging into bucket of hot water has really helped after a heavy training week.

Had fab 1:1 today and got brass monkey from CAR and from shoulder mount!
Will do abs as usual but day 7 is upper body stuff and I’ve trained 5 days straight: I have to take 48 hours out to let my shoulders biceps and forearms recover. I will switch things about a bit, and do upper body stuff on Friday instead, lower bod and core plus stretching is all good. -
My go to rule for getting lean is double the protein, halve the carbs and quadruple the veg. Cut the sodas, sugars and refined carbs completely. Drink water like crazy.
Family friendly healthy meals:
Roast a chicken, shred it, roast peppers and onions and tomatoes, roughly blend them, mash an avocado with lemon and Greek yogurt and pinch of herbs, stuff fajitas with big green salad with the above.Ground lamb or beef mince made into patties with an egg yolk and chopped dried apricots, half a cup cooked diced onion, pinch coriander and served with steamed green veg and roast sweet potatoes and yogurt mint dip.
Salmon or other fish fillets (you can buy frozen economy bags) spread with pesto and squeeze lemon, baked in foil, with roast garlic root veg and spinach salad.
Big Spanish omelette with shredded ham, bacon, leftover veg and grated cheese, big salad, spicy sweet potato wedges made by putting chopped up sweet potato in plastic bag with olive oil and teaspoon paprika and oregano, shaking them to coat then roasting on baking tray.
Chicken thighs baked with sherry, onions and tin of tomatoes with green beans in garlic butter.
