Thanks for the concern about making my own crash pad. I don’t think I will do that. The foam was open cell.

You can’t beat that price. I will definitely look into it. What type of padding or was the padding on the mattress?

I was planning to look at foam. Do you think the foam would work or would you do think the spring would be better? Also, did you get firm?

Did you buy foam and I am assuming you bought 2. Did you attach them to each other or do you have them on each side of the pole? Forgive me if my question sounds stupid.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I would have think about the space issue – I live in a small apartment but, if I cut it into fourths, I could attach with Velcro and it allow for easier storage.

However, other than going to sites that sell poles, I would have no idea where to find a used one. I will probably end up buying new.
