As my instructor says, if it hurts you’re doing it right!
I’ve got "extras" on my thighs, mostly fat, but turning to loose skin the more I pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
The extras, or lack of strength, probably make the burn a little worse. I think the trick is to try not to let the pole "grab" your skin and pull it. That means holding on for dear life!
Invest in Arnica gel, it’s great for buising!
ANd repeat this mantra daily:

Wilkommen!
I lived in Herzogenaurach, near Munchen 1990-1991. Beautiful country!
Guten tag! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif -
Rouge- LOL! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
How about doing some hip rolls and "peekaboos" when getting something from a low shelf at the grocery store?!

If you wrap your cooling eye mask around your ankle (yeah for velcro!) so you don’t have to stop dancing just because you injured yourself…. you ARE a pole dancer! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_blackeye.gif
I can’t stop now, I still have half an hour before I need to get ready for work! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif -
YES! YES! YES!

I’m sure a hotel would offer HUGE discounts if we set up poles in a conference area and let some of them watch!

Sounds like fun; but I’ll be in NYC that week https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

You may be a pole dancer if you took the furniture out of the guest room to make a pole room and your company has to sleep on the couch! LOL….I actually did that! LMAO https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I’d do that if I had the spare room. My oldest is 16; his room will become the pole studio when he’s gone. I may have to encourage him to go away to college! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

You may be a pole dancer if you get ceiling height envy!
Little C and your 9ft ceilings…grrrr!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I’m so busted!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I almost convinced my husband to move our bed against a drafty doorwall window so I could get 2 more feet of pole on the high celing side of the room. He convinced me I wouldn’t be able to bear the cold, d@mn his logic! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif -
Yoga- LMAO! I think I’ve got the bug! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I am not a "girlie girl"; my shoes are more function than fashion. I have 3 pairs of hiking boots, 4 tennies, 3 casual shoes, 3 sandals, 2 work flats, and only 2 pairs of heels: a low heel for weddings and such and my 5 inch pleasers (and I’ve got my eyes on some knee highs). Perhaps I could find a platform hiking boot for tree dancing?

If you are proud of your bruises, you may be a pole dancer.
If you can’t find shorts that are short enough, you may be a pole dancer.
If you spend more time watching women pole dance than the man in your life, you may be a pole dancer.
If you hear a song and immediately rate it for pole compatability, you may be a pole dancer.
If you have spent any amount of time trying to convince someone that pole dancing is different than stripping, you may be a pole dancer. -
Thanks for the positive feedback everybody! I’ve never written a letter to an editor before, but I was just so mad! I was so excited to be in the newpaper and on the news I had my kids watching for my clips. Then there are people accusing me of immorality, I couldn’t not respond- especially for my kids’ sake. People will lose their ignorance only through education; we can all be teachers!

OMG! The CEO of my agency called to let me know my letter to the editor defending my morality to the uptight bitty that started all the drama was published! I was nervous, but his only complaint was that I didn’t wear my Common Ground t shirt to promote the agency! God I love my job right now!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gifDear Editor,
I am deeply offended by the letter attacking pole dancing as lewd and immoral. I am a typical pole dancer.
I am a 38 year old married mother of three. I work full time helping people in crisis. I chose a career helping others rather than for personal gain. I garden. I recycle. I enjoy reading and backpacking. I don’t litter. I harm the environment as little as possible. I rarely drink. I don’t break the law.
I pole dance for fun and fitness. In less than a year, pole dancing has helped me to lose two dress sizes, and lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. I’m stronger and more flexible.
My dancing is less risque than the routines on Dancing With the Stars, and my clothing is less revealing as well. Can pole dancing be sensual or seductive? Sure. So can walking down the street.
This weekend, I will be volunteering in a river conservation effort, planting crops, shopping for curtain rods and native plants, and working out at Wonder Women Pole Studio. Please don’t accuse me of harming the community.

I am a child of the 70s and 80s, so of course I loved Michael Jackson, who didn’t? I remember volunteering to babysit at a house that had MTV (still new then) so I could watch the world premier of his Thriller video. Truly gifted dancer, singer, magically entertaining.
Unfortunately it was his troubles that overshadowed his talents for the past decade or so. Whether or not he was sexually inappropriate with children, he had inappropriate relationships with them. It is a sad testament to the power of celebrity that parents continued to allow their children to sleep at his house after the first court case. Not trying to tarnish his name, just need to express the sadness I feel for the human race.

50 is the standard. I’ve heard 45 is good for smaller hands but makes holding on with legs more difficult.
