I am not taking the lessons right now. Want to take a break to nail this and be more consistent with my aerial inverts before I take lessons again because I feel like I waste a lot of time not being strong enough to try other moves…

Thank u so much. I’m not brave enough to post videos online 🙁 I’m sure it would be useful to be able to see what I’m doing wrong. I do end up with my hips over my head but can’t get my bottom hand in the right position in order for my body to face the pole more.

Its s great program that will get you results if paired with a healthy diet…but it is so repetitive that I ended up hating it. I still do some of the dvds when I can’t go outside to bike on cardio days but its not the kind of workout I like to do every single day. Good luck I hope you get a good deal.

Muroo – I actually have to concentrate on my grip as well when I go into the chopper or I won’t even go up halfway lol. I imagine one day I will be able to just go for it but not anywhere near that point yet

I can’t believe that I started this thread a year ago and still have trouble with the Chopper.. I’m doing way better now because I can get it sometimes (means I’m getting stronger) bit still too inconsistent. I try to work on other things like a stronger caterpillar, stretching, and dance flow to keep me entertained. Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! Love this place : )

Hi joni. Sorry I took so long to reply I’ve been going crazy lately trying to juggle work, kids, hubby, poling, and insanity lol. I did p90x about a year ago and loved it but insanity is completely different. U don’t use weights at all, just ur own body weight. The workouts are about 40 mins long for the first month and I hear that they are an hour long the second month. I’m only at the end of week two so can only give my two cents about the first half of the program. There’s a warm up that is very intense, then stretching, and then the real craziness starts. I think its called interval training where u push yourself really hard for about three minutes bringing ur heart rate up and the resting for thirty seconds. After the 30 seconds rest u go back at it for 3 more mins and then 30 seconds rest. You do this for the next 18 to 20 mins and then stretch again. I find that most moves are plyometric. Lots of jumping… I’m loving it so far and seeing faster results than with p90x. Plus I finally nailed my inverted v after one week if doing these workouts yay.

I wanted to update this thread in case anyone is considering doing insanity. I feel a lot more energized this second week. I also feel stronger than ever. Even my upper body strength has improved, I can feel it when I invert. So excited about doing the whole program now! I have increased my caloric intake and me and hubby are waiting for protein powder and a post workout drink to arrive. I think the extra calories are necessary for me since I don’t want to lose weight, just fat.

Paulettepoles – I actually feel better tonight since I had a snack before the workout.

Smokinangel- so happy to hear that the energy came back! I got on the pole for a bit after today’s workout but didn’t get to do much. My legs are so sore!

I am worried about losing upper body strength so I guess I will have to force myself to train for inverts. I looked up the nutrition guide online and it seems like I need to eat more. Maybe getting more calories in my diet will help with energy. Thanks for sharing ur experience with the program : )

I’ve done the jillian dvds but hubby doesn’t like them and part of doing them with him is to keep him motivated so we picked insanity since p90x is even more time consuming. This program is so intense though, nothing like p90x…I’m having trouble keeping up. Maybe I need to eat more proteins or buy a supplement drink. Thanks for chiming in! I hope tohear from others here.
