Amaranth – I have yet to put together a choreography to ANY song : p. Its easier for me to improvise as I go. I think its because I don't know any song really well since I listen and dance to so many different types of music.
I do love Down on me by jeremih but I'm trying to see what else i can find : )

I ordered Volume two and only needed 3 or 4 moves to be able to do them all. Depending on what you can already do maybe you can go Vol 3 and up.

I had that problem all the time, you just have to keep practicing and concentrating on pointing your toes and extending your legs. Congrats on the pole sit, I could not sit on my pole for months so it sounds like you're making great progress : )

Thanks for the sizing advice. When I first ordered it was a size 6 but exchanged them for a 7 because they were so tight. I may stick to a 6 this time and see if they stretch out enough.
The gripping issue is something that happens without me trying, my ankle just happens to land there and I hate that it pulls the strap. I prefer skin contact thas why I thought of giving the slides a shot. I’m scared though lol -

So….I dont get much practice on Mondays or Tuesday because he is home early. I leave pole for wednesdays through saturday and I take one class at the studio on Mondays : ). I have danced for him 3 times already and keep explaining that if he watches me all the time it will get boring. I think he is starting to understand now but it has been a work in process.

You should definitely wear a shirt for pole holds since you really want your upper body to take the load and not your stomach skin. If they are too hard to do without your abs gripping the pole then maybe work on something easier first. Good luck! You will get stronger if you keep at it : )

fuzzynavel~ yes, going into a tuck from a basic invert and then coming down. I still can’t come out very controlled but I guess that engaging the right muscles was the key for me.

I have bought the monthly membership twice and loved the lessons. Waiting for some money to clear my paypal account so that I can get the year long membership. I will still go to my local studio since I dont have a lot of space for extended leg spins, if I did I would be happy to learn by Veena’s lessons alone. She has so many lessons on here for moves that I never learned or even seen at the studio.

thanks for the suggestion. I will check my hand placement tomorrow. You never know! I am very sore today from doing negatives yesterday. Havent been this sore from poling alone in a long time, it feels great : )

I tried negatives yesterday since I can't get up there at all without going into a basic invert first. Coming down was not controlled at all!!! After about the 4th time it felt better but then it got worse as I got tired….. I think that my problem is upper body and back, my abs are pretty strong. I can hold a tuck forever, just can't bring my pelvis up to the pole. My arms straighten out as soon as I try leaning back which makes it impossible to use my arms correctly. Very frustrating but I will keep trying.

VinterVild &Sair – I know I should be patient since its not an easy move. More strengthening exercises are the answer I guess. This move is so usefull, it makes getting into other inversions look prettier.
Polegirl – hmm..I have never even tried tucking and rolling down out of the basic invert. I always come out of it doing inverted crucific and then slide down, or doing a handstand and then trying the bumslide. I should try that and see how it feels. -
awesome site! I spent a good amount of my work day checking out the pics : o
