It’s totally normal to round the back when doing pike. The only time you want to try and stick the butt out in pike is if your going for a nice hamstring stretch. Otherwise, it’s normal. Look at this tutorial for the Hip Hold https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5f21e9ff-edf0-464a-880e-1b18ac110005
If you find your REALLY rounded, then stretching and strengthening the core and hamstrings will help. Try these flowmotion stretch’s

Honestly, if you’re very new to pole don’t worry about wearing leg warmers. A short sock on the climbing foot is helpful to prevent using the foot too much. Only having your knees to use would be rough until your climb skills are very good. You should be using your calf and shin too, not just the thighs.

Pole dancing doesn’t dull the sensation of the thighs, instead your nerves learn that it’s ok and we learn how to more effectively hold our body on the pole as we get stronger and more skilled.

Yes, if you’re doing a pole hold or basic pole climb the stomach will be against the pole. These holds are strength building grips not really meant for looking pretty. Try working on the Performance climb https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e73a6aa-fd20-4071-bf41-3d25ac110005 and trying the push grip https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e68453b-4fe4-4fcc-9944-4993ac110005, these grips keep the belly off the pole.

It totally makes sense and it is complex. However, I’m not ready to give away my secrete sauce for creating programs 🙂 I’m available for one on ones if you’d like help coming up with a personal plan/guide. Fee free to send me an email Veena@studioveena.com if you’re interested.
