Unhooking the top foot will come with time. You can only do this if you have a super secure knee pit grip, then it’s not a problem. Because this uses an Outside Knee Pit Grip focus on making sure your hips are low enough that the back of the thigh and but touch before moving the free leg into place. Keep the low leg of the hooked leg turning across the pole. Like shown in this lesson https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e7be01a-3240-43d8-a75a-308bac110005 (outside knee pit grip)

If in a studio always clean between dancers. If at home you can choose…some like a dirty pole, others wipe it down every few tricks.
I suggest deep cleaning the pole 2 times a year. If you have brass that means polish, I use Brasso, then clean the polish off real good. For all other finishes including brass (after brasso) try the steam cleaner method to get all the old grip aids and junk off. https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/50ccac91-674c-4915-8e13-3b120ac37250

Really it isn’t a great piece of equipment but would work for a beginner who really needed something. They don’t even make these anymore. I wouldn’t feel comfortable having someone spend a lot of money on it. I hope you find something!! If not, you can always play around with chair dance and floor work!

Even if you’re not a beginner the 30 day take off program can be used as a guide. Just replace the beginner moves the something that is your level. Also You’ll probably find I have a different progression of moves from a studio and going through that program can help you understand.
Or… follow one of the VIP Plans I’ve created. These will give you a week long guide!

Unfortunately the pole without a base and vice versa is not useful. You can’t just put another pole in the base and use it. They’re built to work together. The pole isn’t super tall (which is one reason why I never used it) Depending on the car I would think it would fit. My husband (webmaster) said he can try and get it apart.
The pole is 7 ft total length. I was planning on posting to FB market place this week so let me know how interested you are. I’d love to help out a fellow member if I can! Honestly I don’t feel the pole is worth the cost of shipping.
-
Yes, I sold another one I had a month ago to a woman from CA. Everyone is looking for poles right now!
I’m sure it’s a long shot for you, but if you have the ability to drive here, I will give it to you. The pole will not come apart and it’s not as sturdy as an x stage and that’s why I’m asking so little. It’s perfectly fine for a beginner and had never really been used. Shipping with the pole as one piece would be a challenge alone. Here’s a picture.
-
Yes, re-lube anything you wipe off…use whatever xpole suggests…I’m not sure what that would be.
-
I wish I still lived there!!! I have a star stand alone stage that I’m selling for 50 dollars. I don’t have the space for it in my new home. I’m in Vegas now tho. Shipping it would be a pain and expensive as there are a lot of large pieces.
-
You should put a bit of lube back in the threads you wipe off or they can get stuck. 🙂
-
In fact not in face LOL
-
I’ve only seen poles rust because of continuous moisture not a one time thing. In face I use steam to deep clean my x poles and they do great. Exposure to moisture need to be prolonged in my experience, damp rooms, fog, sitting in water.
