Yes, in calf raises focus on the weight being equal and through the center of the foot, but yes, more towards the big toe in your case. DON’T allow them to roll out! Even if you can only do a few that’s ok. These muscles are already weak and probably stretched so we want to strengthen them and lengthen the opposing muscles.
Focus on these https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e8cf3ef-dd2c-44d7-a822-3f5dac110005 https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e8cf2dd-9020-44b7-b4b5-3f2fac110005 to strengthen
You can gently stretch the inside of the foot like this….make sure there’s only enough pressure to feel a stretch and try this with with ball of the foot on the ground (as shown or pointed toes). You can even do these when sitting. Note that if you feel your already very mobile then skip the stretch. This would be if you feel you have an imbalance.

Even most of the new VIP plans I post weekly, you will find things you can work on that don’t need a pole.
That would be great to hear how it goes as far as rust etc! You’d be surprised at how active threads still are…people just look now, and don’t reply LOL

I’m not sure how long a chrome pole will last. I’ve had some of my chromes for 12 yrs and they’re fine, HOWEVER, I never use them. lol I use brass now. I believe how you care and use the pole will determine how well the finish holds up. Don’t wear rings, or clothing with zippers and buttons things like that.
If you can find a way to keep the base of the pole clear of water like tarps that would say you a lot of set up time. Then you just pull the pole out when you’re done.

It’s a matter of strength building. There’s no trick that will teach you how to hold the whole body up with one hand. 😊 You want to start with spins the face the pole like fireman, carousels, then move on to chair and forward attitudes etc as those are forward facing spins and you can use the outside hand to assist. Most people I’ve worked with can’t spin with one hand easily or quickly. It takes training.
Something else to remember, if you don’t have the momentum and timing behind you, then holding is more difficult. Spinning with one hand is really challenging and isn’t something you suddenly learn, you have to work up to it. Doing the lessons in the order I have them is helpful.
Also, if you’re talking about spins like reverse grab? Those types require shoulder mobility, timing and lots of training to make sure you have the strength to support all the stress placed on the shoulder. I never suggest working on Reverse grab until you can do a single hand chair.
This routine will be helpful and PLEASE stretch your forearms if you’re focusing on spins. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e7506d9-4224-4491-8439-4bc4ac110005
Check that your shoulder engagement is good as well. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e7034cf-2b58-4d29-a149-1be9ac110005
If you post a video I can tell right away if it’s a strength or technique issue.

AdministratorMay 13, 2020 at 3:59 pm in reply to: Chrome versus stainless steel: Durability and grip for outdoor poleHi welcome, congrats on baby and coming back to pole!
So, I have xstages and 3 poles for them….2 chrome one I had powder coated. I wouldn’t leave it outside at all in a humid environment, but it sounds like you set it up every time? That’s a lot of work!!! Can I ask is there a reason you can’t do an indoor pole?
Anyway, back to durability….the newest version of SS finish from xpole is the only finish I don’t have. I’ve not had issue with my chrome poles but have heard others with this problem. I would assume it’s a full stainless steal and not coating? If that’s the case I’d say it’s more durable and would go with that if moisture is an issue. The grip sounds like it will be fine for you’re skin. I always say with the right grip aid combos you can make any finish work so go with the one that fits your budget and style.

Do you mean spinning on spinning pole with one hand or static?

AdministratorMay 13, 2020 at 3:50 pm in reply to: 10 years later, i’mBack to middle spllits and intermediate Back felxibilityHi! As Colleen mentioned there’s a 30 day flexibility program and you’ll find several flexibility routines to follow for all of those things. How often, is listed on each video. More is not better in my experience so don’t over do it. Risk of injury increases when we don’t warm up enough, do too much too often, and use poor technique.
Try foam rolling the hamstrings daily and before any exercise.
Here’s the stretching and flexibility section https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view_category/stretching-exercises Good luck!

Yeah, all PC has a sticky/grip to it…I don’t think that the color matters, my PC poles are purple, red and black. I think it’s the process used to create the overall finish, not the color. I was able to feel and see the finish I went with. I couldn’t tell ya if that place was good or not. Feeling is the best day to know.

It’s normal for that area to get hot, be sure you’re taking a break to let your hands and pole rest. Work on something off the pole for a minute or two. If you are not slipping from sweaty hands then don’t worry about using anything…if it’s just a hot pole that’s normal. If you’re slipping from sweat, yes, you can try dry hands. Strengthening the hands is ALWAYS recommended.

Hi! Have you tried not using any grip aid? Not everyone needs it. I don’t know what the Lupit pad is for, sweaty hands or to add grip/tack? Not all grip aids do the same thing so it’s important to know what you’re using and why.
It’s normal for any pole finish to warm as the hands move around it, and it’s what you want! Stainless steal is a fine choice and with the right grip aids and strength training for the hands any finish is workable.
So first don’t use any grip aid and try dancing. Figure out if you have sweaty hands, dry or maybe the work great without any grip!

Did a workout this morning…felt tired and weak as I’ve not done anything all last week and only did filming the last few weeks now. Made some headway with editing and voice overs so I think I should be able to do real workouts this week.
Amelia That’s awesome about the Titanic!
