I HAVE to pole in the morning or it just wont happen. Every time I tell myself "I’ll just do it at night" haha it never happens. I’m just ways to beat, once the kids are all in bed and I’m sitting by my hubby I don’t want to do anything.
My mornings look like this…get up, feed all the kid, make lunches for school, eat my breakfast, drop off kids, check emails…respond to critical ones only,( I break that rule a lot and end up wasting my morning https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gifops. then its time to feed Henry before his nap, lay him down, quick snack for me, CJ has TV time, and I go do a work out. Henry wakes up, If I’m lucky I got to shower. Time to make lunch, feed Henry, go get Will from school, come back ( I have less than an hour to be home) make myself lunch and a snack for Will. eat, do some dishes, time to get Alex,…. come home he has a snack, then its nap time for Henry, homework time for older boys, by the time all that is done, well its time to make supper (dinner), after supper its time to clean the dishes, put Henry to bed, get kids ready for bed and tucked in, then I pick up the house a bit and sit down to do more emails and work! I usually try to take a quick, super hot bath so I can stretch while I work or go over video’s. Wheeew…so you can see if I don’t do it in the morning its not gonna happen. I have one day a week where I get groceries, and house hold supplies, and that has to happen in the morning during my work out time. Then there are just days where house work and trying to have play time with my boys takes up the morning so I don’t work out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif Well off to feed Henry before his morning nap! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif I’m supposed to do legs for my work out today, we’ll see if that happens https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -

Oh the good thing is with the new video cam I can upload vids the same day I do them..bad news is I don’t know how to use it very well yet…Just watch the vid and you’ll see….We had been talking about this full cartwheel thing, and I wanted to try it, I should have warmed up, I literally just got off the couch and gave it a try. My right shoulder and elbow are not happy right now because I neglected to warm up. I’ll be ok though.

I AM SOOOOO MAD! So I’m sitting here on the couch and thought hey, I’ll try that cartwheel thing…So I got off my butt, got the video cam and wanted to record my FIRST attempts. so I manage to figure out how to do the full cartwheel, BUT IT DIDN’T RECORD! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif So I did it again but its not the true first attempts, I could cry, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I’m mad, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif I never get my first attempts on vid!! I don’t know if I’ll post it cuz its not really the first attempt but I did fall once LOL. I HATE TECHNOLOGY. I’ll defentily be doing a vid on the differences between the two (cartwheel/roundoff) for youtube at some point to help spread the word.

I am finding some group in-person aerobic certification and choreography classes through them in my state – do think these would be as beneficial?
AFAA is good to, in person is always the best, for me it wasn’t an option because I was living in ND at the time….land of nothing…………

Yes Lily…I’m sorry I missed your first post. Sometimes I read them and intend to write but forget. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I have been ACE certified for 8 years, its not an easy coarse by any means, but you will learn sooooo much, the test for the PT was tough. You will also be required to do continuing education, every 2 years to ensure your keeping up with things in order for them to re certify you. The pole dance Certification falls under the continuing ed. program. You will also have to maintain current CPR, but any gym or studio will require the same, well at least they should! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Yes awesome….THAT is a true full cartwheel….I don’t know why everyone calls the other one a full cartwheel! Thanks Lola https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif perfect example. All in favor of Round off and Cartwheel being 2 different moves say eye https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif get it eye. LOL

The common names….(thigh hold, cross ankle release, ankle release) As for the move she is working on…I call it the falling angel knee hold, (Cross knee release, cross thigh hold,)…I know there are plenty more names for these’s two moves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif My version of thigh hold..looks like a chopper but your only holding on with one thigh.

I should add… Roxy, from what I know of you, you would make a great pole instructor!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I strongly recommend becoming ACE certified in either personal training or group fitness. Both would be best if you plan on leading a group. ACE is one of the leaders in the health and fitness industry for certifications. ALL gyms recognize them and respect those who are certified through them. They also have a pole dance certification now too. I believe the pole dance cert. is only for someone who is already an ACE professional. If any of you are going to choose to go with a pole certification only…..be careful, look at THEIR qualification, at this point there is nothing stopping any pole studio or anyone, from creating their own Certification so, that means any joe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif can certify you and charge you a hefty fee for it. If your going to pay a large amount of money for a certification, I would go with a respected one like ACE. If you chose a fitness based program instead of just a quicky certification, you will learn muscle groups, body mechanics, stretching, cardiovascular basics, and how to create a safe effective program and way more!! Once you have this knowledge you can easily apply it to pole dance and any other form of exercise out there. Invest your money wisely. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_study.gif From what I have seen with pole certifications, unless you have a background in fitness you need more than just that. Its just my opinion though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_colors.gif

Yes emails, when people comment on a vid would be nice….it is a BIG process so please be patient. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif One more thing, if you don’t want all your SV emails going into your inbox, but you don’t want to miss new posts… you can create a filter on your inbox, so just SV emails are in there. This is what I have to do to keep track of everything.
