awwww thanks you guys. Somedays its just hard, my sister and cousin both just "friended" me on facebook a few days ago. Its been bothering me….I don’t know why because I told my sister its to promote SV? so I’ve been struggling with the silent (my family just ignores any issues they have with each other) disapproval of my pole dance and my lack of religion from my whole family. Its hard to feel like you don’t belong anymore. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I can’t talk about anything of this matter with family because they don’t want me doing it in the first place. I know first hand how hard it can be dealing with close minded people. I think thats why this guy got to me today, being an outsider in a family is never fun and sometimes it bugs me more than other times. So I really, truly, thank you guys for your kind words of support. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I know its not professional of me to speak about my problems…..but this site isn’t about me being a professional or saying I know everything there is to know about pole dance (and any teacher who says they have all the answers isn’t a good teacher…to truly teach you must continue to learn yourself) anyway…as I was saying the Studio Veena site is about building a supportive community for pole dancers. I want every pole dancer to realize weather they want to learn to pole, buy a pole or meet like minded people SV is the place you go!! blaah blaah, whats with me today getin all long winded LOL. Feels like I’m gonna have to dance my frustrations away today. POLE FOR THE SOUL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

Guys normally I don’t let comments bother me (I made the previous post with the comments just to show you all that it happens to everyone) but…..this guy…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif yes he did it! he made me cry….I hate that he got to me. arrrrggg. I probably shouldn’t even post this cuz you’ll all think I’m a big baby. I don’t know… but I feel like you all are my friends and when crappy stuff happens to you, you tell your friends. You don’t need to reply but I just wanted to show you how horrible this person is. This was not a great way to start my day. Does this MOTHER @#$#%@! even realize I had my 4th baby 4 months ago in this vid?? Men like this should be punched in the face https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif All kind hearted (bitchy not included) women are beautiful no matter what age shape or size….I can’t believe this pig https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif
His first post…these are all his exact words. copied them over…….Her age is showing. Younger women are sexier and move better.
This was sexy 10 years ago.
second post….I don’t know what’s worse: the men with no standards who pay for stuff like this, thus removing the incentive for the women to improve, or the women who just mail it in by copycatting everyone.
She’s like a standup comic telling jokes I’ve heard 500 times before.
I bet if her husband could get her,, though, he could get 100 more women just like her. She’s lucky to have such a loyal man who won’t care fi she ages.
Third post…I should do a video about how well I treat my girlfriend, and how ugly, fat or old women don’t deserve that kind of "love."
That would be the equivalent of this type of video: one that turns women on, but reminds them that most are LOSERS who can’t ever get loved in real life.
Men can get what they want (sex) with as little as $100.00. God bless!
Then the https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif was nice enough to leave a comment on my profile Which I deleted already, I should have left it….saying how I have no brain, and how if I was his mother he would be ashamed of me and something else about men paying me….I can’t remember. Oh that’s right how old I was.

The superman spin is kinda one of those "trust yourself" moves. I recommended having the superman down really well before trying the spin. There will be a drop as you let yourself fall down into the move, so a good strong grip is a must! Keeping the inside arm waist level and making sure the pole contacts the legs up high on the inner thighs. Getting over the fear that your gonna smack your face if you fall is the hardest part. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
So my advise for getting into the superman…I like to do it by kind of a flip of the hips. So… say your in a gemini position…then you will place the arm closest to the ground so your inside arm below your body on the pole…press yourself up… and the other arm goes above your hooked leg…press with the arms so your holding most of the weight on just your arms then flip your hips so they are facing down. Using your arms to press and hold your self away from the pole slightly with make the flip less painful. I’m not sure if that was helpful to anyone but….I always feel I can’t describe moves in writing very well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif -
Good for you!! Learning to pole dance can be quit intimating, it’s truly is a mental and physical challenge. I think that’s what draws us to it and gets us hooked….that feeling of OMG I can’t believe I DID IT!!! Like the others said just remember proper form to prevent injury, and your on your way……happy poling. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Oh good!! I hope they refund you without hassle. I believe it was Jacq who called buying these cheap poles the "stupid tax" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif So it sounds like you’ll avoid that tax. We all just want you to enjoy poling and most of all be safe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif it will be worth it!

Good job!! Yes I always tell people to try every move on both sides. I’m right handed but when I was first learning I could only comfortably spin left!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Thanks for the up date it’s always great to here about someone improving!!

Welcome https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Pole dance is the best exercise out there!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

This pole seems to be the same as the peekaboo, electra, and pole aerobics pole. You see chances are there’s one or more companies manufacturing this style of pole and many different labels used to sell it. I’m sure I could make a killing selling a "Studio Veena" pole from this company….but I care about quality and safety which is why I chose the X pole. I can’t see it up close, but it sure looks and goes together like all those other crappy poles. Why did your teacher recommend a cheap pole like this over the quality X pole?? Platinum stages and lil mynx are better pole too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif They are not my first choice for poles but they both are good options.

Someone really said that about me Trena? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif that makes me blush. Thank you for the up date it sounded like a lot of fun. You also learned some pretty cool moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif way to go!! One more thing at the IHRSA show I came across a lady who teaches hooping and they had these really cool hoops that came apart so you could just carry them around in a little bag….they looked like a lot of fun. I think I may look into learning hooping too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif.

AdministratorMarch 30, 2009 at 5:37 am in reply to: Any tips on practicing pole dance during pregnancy?Sooo it sounds like your new to pole dance and new to pregnancy. First I want to say Congrats!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif being a mommy is the best thing ever…even better than pole dancing. LOL First thing you need to do is talk to your DR or midwife and make sure they give you the ok to exercise. Unfortunately most DRs have no idea what pole dance is or how difficult it is. So most have no idea how to help you. One more thing I want to share before I give you my guide lines I used for my pregnant pole dancing. Will using my abs hurt the baby? No, not in a normal low risk pregnancy! I did abdominal exercises though out all 4 of my pregnancy’s. If your high risk you wont be exercising anyway.
Here are the rules I followed in my pregnancy. Keep in mind my body was use to years of hard physical training.
First trimester
I continued my regular routine but didn’t learn any new moves I focused on moves I knew were solid for me….I didn’t want to fall and injure myself…I was pretty sick https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif but I did find that exercise helped my morning sickness a lot (and peppermint gum) That gum was a life saver!!! Be careful not to over stretch (relaxin) a hormone, will be with you though out the pregnancy and after for a bit too! Some women find the relaxin really affects them…but for me it was not a problem. To put it simply…If you have strong muscles, tendons, and ligaments this can help reduces the issues with relaxin. Ladies who were strength training before pregnancy tend to have less troubles with relaxin. If your new to pole dance spins can be really tough on your shoulders. Proper form is a MUST!!! Also no matter what form of exercise you chose be sure to avoid over heating..this can be bad for the baby. Drink lots of water and stay cool.2nd trimester
At around 4 months I stopped inverting and climbing. You’ll weigh more and your balance will be changing because of a growing belly!3rd trimester
I rarely danced at all maybe 4 or 5 times and I made a video 2 of those times. LOL So again no inverts or climbs and I stopped most spins and had to modify others. So in conclusion to my thoughts on pregnant poling…I wouldn’t recommended learning new things…..but you can surely enjoy your pole still. Dance around…do hip rolls feel sexy with your new body! Practice moving in a controlled manner and take this as an opportunity to practice good posture while dancing. Work on breathing, pointing your toes (if you are having leg cramps then avoid pointing toes) and having soft hand while you dance. My movements became even more fluid because thats all I could really work on after the 6th month or so.
If you have any questions about pregnancy in general please don’t hesitate to email me. Its a fun and scary life change…enjoy it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

AdministratorMarch 28, 2009 at 6:16 pm in reply to: A little something for the UK peeps to get excited about!Yes, yes please let us know how it works….like I said in the chat room yesterday, you can feel the Xpole itself moving slightly….like say in a straight edge position…which is normal for any free standing pole. This pole sure looked like had quit a bit of lean to it when she was performing. I’m always on the look out for new better poles!! I just felt like the placement of the dark edging in the vid was maybe to hide the instability. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif The grip of stainless steel can become better over use, but Titanium Gold and brass are the best in my book. It would be great if this pole turns out to be a good one! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I love how the pole is named Jake LOL.

The tubes will help prevent the poles from touching in the bag so they wont smash against each other. So… more to protect the finish while you travel, if the pole were to be thrown around at all the pieces wouldn’t touch. I didn’t keep the tubes for both of mine just the one. Its really only necessary if you will travel with the pole a lot. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
