I can do the forearm grip veeerrry comfortably but I still struggle with the elbow grip. I can do it close to the pole but only sometimes with my body away from the pole. So here’s my two sense….this is still on my "work on" list. Ok from what I can tell when I have tried this.. you need to have your elbow placed far enough up or you wont have the leverage you need. The main problem I always run into.. is I always keep my body to the side of the pole during an asha, straight edge and so on…but with the elbow grip you have to keep your body more towards the middle of the pole not off to one side. I don’t really know if that was helpful at all. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif I’ll practice it this week and I’ll keep you posted. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

Did you guys try the shock method?? My poles have gotten stuck before and its worked every time. Just be sure to cover the pole and the release tool with a towel in case you slip with the hammer. Its basically a QUICK sharp tap.
Here’s what X pole suggest…. insert the rods and with one rod against the surface give the other rod sharp tap. It is not force that releases the tubes it is the shock. If the tube still will not release place something solid under the release rod so it is parallel to the surface the poles are on and try again. This so that the shock goes into the solid object and is not absorbed by the rod itself.
I used this a lot when showing our house that was for sale….I had to take it down every time we had a potential buyer or open house. My husband was already out in CA so it was just me and my boys. They would hold the one side down and I would "shock" the other end. It was pretty cute! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I’m so excited for you!! I think it’s natural to feel a little freaked out when you take time to stop and think about it. Just don’t dwell on it because you could psyche yourself out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Welcome!! It is absolutely normal to struggle like that at first. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I like to recommended strength training to new polers who don’t have a really athletic background. A good place to start training??? Right here! There are strength training lessons that will strengthen all the major muscle groups and no special equipment required just you and your friend the pole. LOL We have our Friday chat today so feel free to pop in and say hey! We have fun giving each other support, advice and we get a bit silly too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

Welcome. Congratulations on you new baby!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Pole dance has gotten me back into shape insanely fast after having my 4th. Just be sure to take it slow at first, your abs, inner thighs and pelvic floor, will be weak and my understanding is you are kinda new to this form of exercise? So be sure to listen to your body. You are still dealing with hormonal changes, so please feel free to contact me with any questions. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
