I can’t help you much as far as what to tell your boys other than going with the whole idea of how cutting edge this form of exercise is. My boys, they are all much younger, only think of it as something I use for exercise. They don’t see it any differently then my home gym or exercise ball. lol They also know not to touch it unless they ask me first…or else https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif
As far as what to teach. Hmmm I would say start with spins or holds, moves that take a lot of strength like climbing the pole. Nothing that would make them feel to pretty. Here is an example of a male pole dancer. One thing to note: he is using a his pole in spin mode. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

From webmaster…
As many of you may have noticed, we recently experienced a site outage. We have fixed the site and put safeguards in place so that this doesn’t happen again. The majority of the problem will be noticed in the Forum section where we lost all our information, PLEASE help us rebuild this section. It will still take a couple days to get all the pieces back in place and working but the majority is there. Membership information has been restored, photos are back and of course our videos are up and running. Should you notice any problems with the site please don’t hesitate to contact me and let me know so they can be resolved as soon as possible.
Thank-you everybody for your patience and happy poling!!!

My X has only been used on carpet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif It wont change the stability at all. You can also learn more about the X pole in our articles section.

I have had my X in many different rooms and homes with no problems. Damage will not happen if its installed correctly. Angel is right about finding the studs/joists. A stud finder wont work on plaster so you’ll have to use the knocking method. Also be sure your ceiling is in good condition, and yes over tightening it could cause a problem too. It doesn’t need to be so tight that you can’t turn it any more, just tight enough to be secure. I would give those things a try. Good luck. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

Just listen to your body. I’m not gonna say ignore the pain but some move do hurt until you get stronger. I would worry more if it doesn’t get any better after awhile. It may even help to do some stretches and of course I’m always a big fan of strength training. Sometimes wrapping your wrist with ace bandage can help a lot until you get stronger. I remember having that pain and with those move and it did get better. Still be careful. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif

Oh how exciting https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Congrats! I hope your new pole room will turn out fabulous. I’m still toying with the idea of turning our dining room into a pole room. We like to eat as a family every night so we have to make sure not to loose that. We do have an eat in kitchen but our dinning table is too big the another option is to eat outside…its usable most of the time but for the winter we would have to buy some out door heaters. But it could be fun I’m sure our neighbors would think of us as the crazy MN people who always eat outside.
Poles-That would be great if you were able to get a place with a pole room, I agree with the hard floors. I like to wear heals but its tough on the carpet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

I’m right handed and I also felt more comfortable spinning left handed too. I now spin both ways but I was much hard for me to learn on the right side. Thats way I always say try a move on both side because you never know your non dominate side might work better. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Any way about the X unscrewing, you shouldn’t have that problem, They do (along with other portable poles) over a few long uses (but not right away) tend to need some tightening but not enough to cause a problem. Make sure to use the little metal sticks that come with the pole to tighten it once it up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
