I started…trying to do pole holds around march of last year. I just managed to be able to hold one for longer than a fraction of a second this month. I'm also overweight, so from the very beginning of learning to pole, it's been a struggle. And I don't come from a very active background. I was never atheletic, no real interest in dancing and EXTREMELY self conscious. You'll get it. 🙂

Missed it last year. I think I can actually swing it this year 🙂

Graduate of the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood. I'm a screenwriter. So I spend most of my time in front of a laptop typing away. Partly I was looking to get away from a screen when I started pole, the irony, I'm on this site quite a lot lol.

MemberFebruary 10, 2013 at 1:21 am in reply to: Anyone not like platform/clear heels for yourself? Before pole I pretty much never wore heels. The first heels I ever bought were the ones I wore to prom and within 10 minutes of being inside I whipped those puppies off lol. I can barely walk in heels to this day.
BUT, I've always had this fascination with high heels. I think a lot of girls do. They can't really explain it, but its there. I like the option of wearing them for pole. But by no means do I feel forced to wear them. I only practice in them once on my practice days because I get far more done without them on.
Oh, use to HATE clear heels, something about them just seemed…I don't know skanky? But then, I found tutorials to make clear heels all fancy. So my opinions changed 🙂

MemberFebruary 9, 2013 at 7:04 pm in reply to: opinions ladies and gents on mighty grip?I guess it depends on what you're using exactly. The gloves worked terribly for me. And they ripped after the first time using them. I then started using Dry Hands for a while until I could strengthen my grip, then stopped using it for a while. I do recommend it if your grip strength is weak and you just need that extra oomph to your hands.

Basic Invert 🙁
Its sad! My legs do manage to get far enough into the air to touch the pole, but then I crash back down.

I used to, my 50mm was static only. My stage is both. But I stick to static setting. I've had the stage for at least 2 months and still haven't used spin mode yet.

The quick way is rubbing alcohol. But steam cleaning really gets all the gunk off and should be done at least once a week 🙂
If you don't have a steam cleaner, using an iron with a steam setting works just perfectly. That's what I do.

I know its generic club music, but I like it. Wish they listed what the songs were. Lol
