I’m joining this discussion because I am starting to get second thoughts about my TG.

It is only 3 months old so it’s still almost completely new, and I know that a totally new pole is always more slippery than an old one.

We use some kind of weird powder coated things in class, and they are much grippier but I never really compared my TG to that since well, it’s completely different.

But I was in Stockholm and took classes and they used Chromes, and that was SUCH a big difference compared to mine and I can’t really believe that just wearing it down will make THAT much difference.

My pole is just like jivete said, “It would be sticky and then suddenly get slippy”, SUPER slippy.

Should I stick with it and wear it down or should I start to look for a new one? How long before it’s not “new” any more?

    Hello!

I want to update you all that the pain is much better!
I had decided to rest until today, as I said, but actually I trained a little (very carefully) yesterday and I experienced no problems!

After training I took a bath and did some massage on my arm and I think that it might just be a trigger point (is that what it’s called in english?) that is giving me a hard time. I have not been swollen at all but after the massage the triggerpoints on the top and underneath my underarm has been a little swollen (in a kind of non painful way, but like they can become if you massage them if you understand what I mean). I used to have a lot of problems with the two trigger points on my shoulders and every time I massage them they became just like this and then after one day they were much better again.

So it might be just that.

At least I hope so! D:

However it’s not hurting at all today so I feel hopeful!

And thank you Veena I will definetly look up the lessons as soon as I’ve signed up for them (which I will do as soon as I can afford it!)

Isn’t golf elbow a type of tendonitis or is there something I mixed up now?

Right now I can’t really feel the pain so i can’t describe it so good but I will google golf elbow and see what it sounds like.

Do you pole anyway? Did you need a break, any type of medication?

Oh yeah mine is not that bad either, just “bothersome”.

Well if it worked out for you then hopefully it will work out for me as well! 🙂

Well I kinda feel the same too, exactly what you’re describing.

For how long did you feel it? Do you have any permanent issues at all from it?

    >Is it that sharp pain that almost feels like its your bone?

This sounds exactly like what I am talking about. I am pretty sure that it’s just the muscle but it feels just like that, “almost like its in my bone”.

AllysonKendal Did you take any break or did you just continue? How long did it last?

missym357 Was not doing split grips enough for it to heal?

Thank you guys so much for answers an links!

Do you think this sounds good: I do not pole until monday, on monday I go to class and see how it feels (not doing any split grips) and if the pain doesn’t go away in another week I will go to the doctor?

Maybe it’s the same kind of pain, can you describe where it was? Did you experience it at any other occasions than the split grip?

(Also I am completely aware that people on the internet is not suited for making a medical exam but I don’t feel like it’s necessary for me to go to a doctor – yet. If the pain doesn’t go away I will definetly do so. The thing is just that even though we are lucky enough to have free health care in Sweden the waiting lines where I live is super long and the doctors are always super stressed and usually you just get answers like “Wait a couple of weeks and then come here again”. Hope you understand)

I googled tendonitis and I have to say that it doesn’t sound like it.

It says that if I have tendonitis it should be red, swollen and hurt when I move it.

My arm looks completely normal and almost only when i put pressure from above that it starts to hurt.

I can move it sideways, up, down and in circles without any problem.

Hello thank you all for your answers!

I have taken a break now since monday and I can feel it get better already. As I said I felt the same in both of my forearms before and the right arm pain went away completely so I hope the left arms pain does too! I think that the problem might have been that I didn’t rest even though I should have. The pain has went away between training sessions but have come back every now and then.

Veena, how long break do you think I need to take? Could I go to class on monday (1 week break) and slowly try out how it feels or should I skip one class and go there after two weeks? Or more?

And also yes I will defeintly not do any split grips anymore until I’m stronger! I promise haha! 😀
