@vamp79 – iMovie is a Macintosh only program.  If you have a Mac, it came with iMovie.

The lessons work on about 75% of Android phones.  In general if you can see the user videos you should be able to see the lessons.

@5 Butterflies – It doesn't seem that you are experiencing the exact same issue.  If you are getting a message that says you are not authorized to access this file, your request is, most likely, being truncated on the client side.

It is important that everyone who is having video troubles contact me directly rather than posting in the forum since each person's situation is different.

Video is a very complex issue.  There are multiple ways to stream it and multiple levels of redundancy that you can use, different encodings, different wrappers and the list goes on and on and on.

Many people will say "I can watch videos on youtube" but you have to realize they have a multi-billion dollar architecture and zero security.  There are literally plugins that come on many computers that will let you download any Youtube video you want.

We have two edge locations in Australia delivering buffered/encoded video.  If you are having difficulty accessing the videos on internet speed that is fast enough, and you are in Australia, one of two things is happening:

    1) Your ISP is not properly reporting the location of your IP address and therefore you are most likely being delivered content from a continent other that Australia.
    2) Many people have taken to using Google's enhanced DNS servers which can be setup in your router or computer (if you don't know what I'm talking about and you don't have a geek in your house this is not the case).  These enhanced DNS servers also do not properly report your location and hence you will often be served content from much farther away than neccessary.

In either case you will experience severe latency.  Youtube, Vimeo and other major services don't experience these problems because they don't wrap any true security around their video streams.

Regardless please contact me with further issues.

@Senrysa – Could you check your email spam folder and then email me. I have verified that our server is connecting to and sending emails to your ISP. Please email me directly about this though as it will make it easier to trouble shoot without bothering other people.

I would suggest trying to work with your neighbors, either make personal visits to a manager at each office or invite them all to an open house.  Try and establish a dialog with each location, oftentimes this is all it takes to create a good working relationship.

I would warn you to be very careful about making assumptions about their prejudice.  While this is common it can setup boundaries to communication that can be difficult to overcome.

This thread has gotten a touch off topic.  If it could be reigned in to a polite discussion of Canadian competitions rather than a back and forth argument it would be greatly appreciated.

I would also encourage people to be careful with one of the topics here.  The law of trademark rules worldwide, there is no disputing it unless you have prior art showing that you used a name or concept first.

@emotioncatcher – You are allowed to post pretty much anything in the forum.  Even youtube links to your own tutorials.  What we don't allow is upload of tutorials to our video system.

August 11, 2011 at 8:44 am in reply to: What would you do? A libel situation

@Jlynn87 – If you are considering legal action you should never post this in a public forum.  This weakens your position.  Consider that if the user is following the forums they now know for a certainty that a cease and desist letter is almost certainly a bluff and even if you do take them to court you lack the funds to pay a lawyer for more than a couple days.

From a different perspective, libel and slander cases are quite often more trouble than they are worth.  You generally have to prove intent, and also have to prove that the statements are false.  It becomes a he said she said situation that does nothing for the reputation of either party.

The best response in almost every case is just to ignore it, rise above it.  As a wise man once said, "There is no such thing as bad publicity".

July 31, 2011 at 11:58 am in reply to: Pocket pole studio app?

@k2weller – Curious is right, any iPhone app should run on an iPad.  Pocket Pole is however not built for the iPad so the application will either run small or large and pixelated depending on how you prefer to run it.

Our site has specially encoded videos for tablets however.  If you get our lessons you will get hi-res video on your iPad along with full audio and instruction.  This does require an internet connection though.
