PDR, haha agree. If it was just the pole that sells the sexuality I'd be as intriguing as Felix or Jenyne (I definitely am not!) and we'd all be exactly the same.

I suppose I don't understand where all the labels for being a feminist come from. How you define being a feminist should come from what empowers YOU, and all the other people be damned. To actually say to you that using a pole is somehow subjugating you or is a sign of "pain and oppression to women" (really…I would think it would be a symbol of empty wallets for men lol) is idiotic. They may as well say you can only be a feminist if you shave your head, dress like a man, and do not embrace any attribute that makes you female. I do not, and have never, subscribed to the various social definitions, or by people who write college thesis papers, of what makes me or anyone else strong. If you want to pole dance, and that makes you feel strong, empowered, beautiful, sexual, and happy, then that's what you should do, and your friends can either deal with it or shut up about it. Just as a note of interest, there is a woman in England who recently taught pole dance to a Muslim woman who is very high on the social strata, I cannot recall her name. Her husband allowed it, encouraged it, because his wife had an interest. Know why? Because there is no social stigma for it. The only stigma for any exercise having to do with a pole is in the countries where stripping is prevalent. Anywhere else, its an incredible form of exercise and beautiful feats of strength. Sorry for the long rant, but I get so tired of uptight women trying to impose labels and boxes around other women. We are supposed to SUPPORT each other, not hinder each other.

Wow…I guess I'm pretty lucky with the family and boyfriend. I showed the mom and sis a few vids of Jenyne and Felix and they were awestruck. The boyfriend thinks it is awesome that I've mounted a pole in the house and he doesn't associate me with strippers at all…I'm not sure if it is because he used to date so many of them (LOL) or if it's because he paid attention when I showed him the Felix and Jenyne vids (probably both). Either way, they are all supportive of me being me. Now that I've been away from it for many months, I have my pole up again and am starting from scratch. Urgh…  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Keep checking craigslist. I found both my large mirrors on there (one is 7 x 10 and the other is about 6 x 8) and I only paid $25 each.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Glitter, my first thought is…they just didn't think about it. If these are new girls going into business, they may have so much on their plate one thought the other was handling it. It's forgivable, depending on how much they have going on. I used to manage 2 law offices at the same time (and go to school and do military reserve duty at the same time lol) and sometimes so much piles up you forget simple stuff. My suggestion is to call her and give her a chance if you really want the opportunity. You may be more comfortable after talking to her. And if you don't…at least you won't always wonder if this was the break that you missed.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Or….here's another thought. You'll love this Glitter. Maybe they are auditioning you at the club because they literally want you to train their strippers to do real pole moves so they can generate more business. Most of the young girls who come into clubs to get jobs don't have any actual pole experience and it's "on the job" training. The really good ones get together for practices before work, etc. Maybe they are trying to invest in the talent they have and the girls they are trying to get. Having an on-site pole instructor might help them get a higher calibre of talent.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Ladies if I might suggest…check out streetmoda.com.  If you sign up to receive texts and/or emails, they send you a code for 20% off. (Just don't use the code until you are sure you are ordering, or their system will wipe out the code and you have to go through customer service to get another at the time you are ordering, etc). Anyway, their prices are already cheap and they have a lot of Pleaser stuff.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif  I also like to get the "last pair" deals at electriqueboutique.com.

Veena's lessons are amazing and she breaks everything down into "baby steps" to make it easier to learn. I've been using them and love them. Kudos on the augmentation, I had mine done in December 2009 and am tickled daily.

Ani, that's the same one I've been thinking about. I'm still a beginner so you'll most definitely do Teardrop more justice than I could have. Can't wait to see it!

@Soul – I didn't look to see where you are located, but if you have a Target near you, I love their Xhileration line of undies. I use the boyshorts as pole shorts. I wear the string thongs (as opposed to regular thongs) since I'm short waisted and don't like ANYTHING coming above my hipbones, the tanga panty (which is new and is kinda between a thong and a boyshort, if you can picture that lol), their hipkinis are cute, and of course the regular "bikini" cut. They are cute because they are all cotton and because of the different patterns. I get a large in the thong, boyshort, and tanga, and an XL in the bikini (to give the extra coverage for my very large arse…hurray for Irish genes!). So your normal size will work in just about everything but the bikini, where I recommend you go a size larger. Hope that helps!

P.S. I really want to try the Fredericks of Hollywood tanga panty too…mega-cuteness!

Hmm….first album "bought" or first owned? First album owned was KISS, err..I think it was Love Machine? It was the one of them standing in all their makeup, back when Ace and Peter Kriss were still part of the group, and at their feet were about 20 sexy girls wearing kiss makeup. (I think I was about 5?) First album bought would probably be Duran Duran. Still have a mad crush on John Taylor. Apparently he has yet to get the universal memo that I want a ride on his daym boat while I pose on the bow in a bikini. *giggling  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif
