I've never had a bad pole dream, but sometimes i have dreams in which i coincidentally discover that i can lift myself into a chopper, shoulder mount stall, etc like it's a peice of cake and magically hold it forever. It's weird because i NEVER have good dreams… except when it involves a pole. Then i wake up in such a happy blissful state with a smile on my face until i realize it was only a dream and it disappoints me SO much everytime to snap back to reality.

I don't think i ever really knew what "pole dancing" was until around 2006 when i entered university… i was watching a spanish music video which showed some bikini dancers grinding the pole and one of them did a Cross Ankle Release… i was fascinated due to my attraction to anything gymnastics-related, but i also remember feeling jealous cause i thought i would never have the opportunity to try that (i thought it was something only strippers would have access to)… , then i youtubed "pole dancing" and came across 2 videos… 1 of a girl doing only simple spins as well as this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa-UEd6CrbQ …. and i thought I WANNA PLAY ON THAT… but i didn't think i ever could so i pushed it to the back of my mind and never thought about it again…
until a couple years ago my mom randomly called me one day and said she's enrolling for a pole dance class at Aradia uptown studio in toronto (she's ALWAYS looking for new things to try- dance classes, etc), and asked whether i want to join. I said yes without a moment of hesitation (I had never heard of pole studios before), and she was actually shocked & pleasantly surprised… and she still mentions to this day how ironic it was that i said yes to POLE DANCING when i NEVER took up her other offers for dance classes (i was always shy to go cause i had never danced in my life…) before the day of the 1st class i youtubed pole dancing again and spent the whole day watching Tara Karina's videos in amazement and knew this was something i would stick to. So we went to Aradia 4-5 times and i fell in love with it since the moment i set foot in the studio, even though i was surprised that i couldn't do ANYTHING on the pole. the classes were super fun but i couldn't learn fast enough without having a pole to practice on at home, and since my mom didn't have time to go anymore, i finally ordered my xpole and crossed my fingers that my dad would approve, and he did 🙂 best investment i ever made in my life 🙂

thanks for your reply. i just put up my pole and had a go on it… seems pretty firm and i feel like the happiest girl in the world again :p
i had bought a stud finder for $40 from Canadian Tire but it didn't work on these ceilings… apparently it only detects within 1.5" or something. tapping didn't seem to work either… this guy had an infrared camera. i know its a total rip off to pay $100 to someone to check your ceilings but oh well… i felt like i couldn't live without my pole anymore & wanted to be on the safe side.

LOL i know they look easier than they are eh? i was a total failure the first time i tried them, but stick with it you'll be doing just fine after a couple times.

np im glad u guys like them! they feel great to do..
here's also the routine i use to warm up my body before i stretch. i never really had the patience for yoga but this routine feels AMAZING and soo energizing i do it everyday now. i like it because it stretches and strengthens at the same time. i think u might have to subscribe to her to be able to see this one though.

If anyone hasn't seen Dashama's yoga videos on youtube i highly recommend you check them out, she's an amazing instructor. These are the 4 videos ive been doing every other night for 2 weeks now (i found i gain more flexibility when i let my muscles rest one day in between) and it has helped my flexibility tremendously, especially for the middle splits. After finishing these videos everynight i also stretch in the actual middle splits position using my pole for support. On Jan.1 i started with 14 inches off the ground for my middle splits (yah i know im really inflexible) but in less than 2 weeks im already down to 7 inches now! I haven't been measuring my front and back splits but i feel the progress there is more slow (& painful). anyway hope these videos help you guys as much as they're helping me:

I started a cardio kickboxing class yesterday and I’m having a blast!!
its a fun & challenging workout, we use boxing dummies at the studio, but you don’t even need that or boxing bags if you wanna do it at home you can just punch into pillows or something https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif you’ll just have to make sure you’re using proper technique for safety & injury prevention.
just my 2 cents https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif -
hey, when i was answering this i was so caught up about the idea of telling her that you pole dance and still having her respect, that i totally forgot about the physical aspect of actually putting the pole up in HER house. but the others are right, come to think of it, my pole has left a tiny dent in my popcorn ceiling, although hardly visible, but if it’s her house she obviously should know about the possibility. and i guess you should also make it clear that if any damage occurs you would pay for it. i remember when my dad first saw my pole, he was more worried about the ceiling than the idea of me pole dancing. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
