hey, if it was me, i’d just wait to move in, then i’d bring it up casually when she sees it (whether its up or down). Like oh yah, that’s my fitness pole… and if she seems surprised or unfamiliar with the concept, then i’d do the same as with anyone else- just educate them on what an amazing sport and workout it is. usually people understand, sometimes u need to go a step further and show them an impressive video, that always works. good luck

i only have a big mirror on one side of my room, and i can’t see myself doing the whole spin (i use video for that) but i try to start the spin in a spot that will give me the mirror view at the good part of the spin (like in the middle of the spin… and usually catch a bit of the ending, since the spins are usually a bit more than one full spin around the pole)… if that makes any sense to you lol.

MemberFebruary 24, 2010 at 7:46 pm in reply to: Friends and family–do they get annoyed with pole talk?I have a close friend I talk to on msn a lot, and I’m always giving her pole video links when I’m watching the good ones. I appreciate that she actually opens them though and tries to look through at least half of the video… but it’s clear that she gets sick of it. I asked her once how she could possibly not enjoy watching something so amazing and she said 2 things: 1- "Honestly, they all look the same to me" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif , and 2- "It makes me feel untalented" LOL.
Other people like my other friends and my brother show no enthusiasm whatsoever and they refuse to even look at pics or videos that I show them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

i would say don’t let go unless you can feel that you have a really secure grip with your legs (squeeze tight and make sure the pole’s warmed up), i let my hands go from a gemini once because I figured i should be fine since I was in the right position. Big mistake- i just slipped right down and my arm got twisted a bit trying to protect me from my fall- hurtful but thankfully nothing serious.
So I think you should just be really careful and let go very slowly- first with only one hand, and you can tell if you’re slipping down. good luck! -

when you ride public transportation and the poles are eyeing you down. I was so close to doing this riding the metro to the Caps game. I really needed someone to egg me on!
I take the subway everyday and EVERY time those poles look sooooo tempting!!
They look so thin & slippery though, I’m just dying to know if I could hold myself up on them lol.
i wouldn’t dare touch them when i’m alone on my daily commutes, but they say there’s a first time for everything… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
lol one day… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif -
lol ya… gaining is harder than people would think! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

i have this problem too with the thigh holds.
i’m trying to gain about 10 pounds right now so i’m hoping this problem will get solved, (along with my lack of arm strength from my weakling arms lol) but on the bright side, i feel that lighter girls have an advantage when it comes to spins, i think it’s easier to do nice full spins with momentum when you have less weight to carry. -
