I tried it without and feel like the pole moves on the pad, but only when I do a heavy spin move. So my theory shows that they are suppose to stay on verses their theory where theire is more pole contacting the pad to keep it from slipping. Ugh…. why do I have to be EST and the company on PST?!

I have been working on it on static. The hardest part is getting it rehooked. I will record and upload later! I just need to work on the flip-floppingness of it!

Strength is easy for me… I'm a crossfit chick. Thats the one thing I have on my side. Cooridnation is a totally different thing, thats why I have to see it over and over and over!

With Pleasers, I have to buy a 9 since a 10 is too big. At first they are a little tight since I am a 9.5 but after I break them in they are perfect!

I started P90X shortly after I started taking dance classes and the results were amazing. I was 160 and now I weigh 145. There are multiple options you can use for P90X. You can do the Lean version, which is 12-15 reps with not as much weight per exercise ,the Regular version which is 8-10 reps with more weight, and then there is the doubles which is cardio in the morning and then Lean or Regular in the evening. I went on vacation back home and did it for a few days, then got sick, so I haven’t done it in two weeks, but unlike some exercise/diet plans I did not gain the weight back!
It is about an hour a day (unless you do doubles), with a weight day, then a non-weight workout like Plyometrics, core symetries and yoga. By the way yoga is 1 hour & 45 mins long!! It is 6 days a week and does take some dedication. You best bet would be to do any pole work on the weight days (like P90x in the morn, pole at night) so your muscles are not worn out. Ab ripper will kick your butt, it is like doing 360 situps, but worth it!!!
Another major part, that you must follow is the nutrional plan. I have a friend who did this with me but did not stick to the plan and did not have the results I had. The plan is the hardest part since you have to plan out for the day what you will eat. However, I was eating alot more than I use to, just differently.
Overall, I would say it is worth it if you plan on being dedicated. Since doing this I have gotten so many compliments (my sis asked where the rest of me was!) and I noticed that during pole class I have alot more strength than my other classmates!!

When I first started dancing, I had a friend who gave me a rule when pole dancing. She said when learning a pole move you have to also learn a floor move for when you exit. Basically every move ended on the floor and I worked my way back onto the pole. Don’t do a move and when you get to the floor (if the move takes you to the floor) hop up and grab the pole again. This helped and I noticed that my dancing looked more gracefull and fluid. I notice that some people starting out stick to the pole and do move after move and you get stuck in that pattern. I agree with the others, the dryboard is a good idea for writing a pole move, then a floor move, ect for when you get stuck and working on only floorwork once a week.

Sadly, for someone who loves the pole so much I have had the misfortune of being born with hyperhidrosis. I sweat all the time, for no reason, even when I am cold. Add in the fact that I am doing a workout/dancing, even worse. I was recommened Drysol by my doctor and I love it. I no longer have to wear dark shirts!! However, I still had a problem with other parts of the body sweating (hands, knee pit) when dancing. I use mighty grip gloves when practing new inverts or complicated tricks just in case I get up there and my hands are sweaty. I have tried mighty grip powder for in class, but not a fan of it. I just could not spin as good and I sweated through it in 10 mins. I finally asked my doctor and she said that the Drysol was safe to use on my hands and knee pits, and it works great. It will dry your hands out though!!! What I do is use the Drysol, then early morning of the day when I will practice I put coconut oil (small amount) on my hands and they are perfect. Coconut oil leaves enough moisture on your hands but not slick like most lotions do. Everyone is different though, try it if you like.

People judge what they do not understand. I use to dance at a stripclub and when I say danced, I actually danced, not just shake my butt. I worked my ass off doing pole tricks and was in the best shape of my life. I was also judged, lost people who I thought were friends, but it let it empower me. I knew who I was and what I was. Plus half the girls that were so negative were the same girls at the nightclub dancing all sluty after a few drinks and going home with random men. But I was the whore, not them! I just recently started taking pole classes after three years of being off the pole and even though it is in a studio and my own home, I was told how brave I am for doing it and posting pictures of me doing pole tricks. Is it that bad? Since I started back I have lost 15 pounds, toned up and am happy (I love my pole!). In the end, who cares, if I am not affecting your life, does it matter. I just smile now knowing that out there somewhere is a person that I have irked. Part of me loves being defiant.

Drysol works wonders!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif I would sweat like a pig even when I was cold to the point that I would cordinate my clothes to hide the sweating. I tried all the deodorants out there as far as getting it at your local store. Nothing worked!! Then I found Drysol on a website for people who have excessive sweating and was amazed!! I do not sweat at all and can wear whatever I want. I only have to apply it twice a week. I have not used it on my hands yet, but it did work on my knee pits, so give it a try.
