Thanks, that's good to know it goes away. I am so close to getting an invert that is actually decent; definitely going to try and schedule more than a half hour but I know every little bit counts. The pull up bar is a fantastic idea, I lack upper body strength still

I thankfully do have a pole in my bedroom, and that is a veryyyy good idea. my biggest problem is that I have like 4+ days of no pole due to lack of good scheduling, busy stuff happening etc, and then my muscles are not as used to the pain/holds and it's discouraging to get used to again. Working on getting out of that cycle!

Thank you all for your replies! I've recently been using a planner to keep school/training days for work separate. I'll definitely set aside time in writing for pole/exercise. Anyone have any meals/diets/whateveryoucallyourfoods that help with pole? I'm sure protein is a big part

Yep it's in my bedroom, I crank up the AC but a dehumidifier is a fantastic idea thanks!

I am very new to pole, only been doing it for maybe a month now? But I cant tell you being someone who has never been in a sport or worked out with weights on a regular basis, that I could not even hold myself on the pole. But in the short amount of time I've been poling, I've gained enough strength to hold myself up and do tricks I would have never thought I could do. I would say if you have time/ drive to do a little extra with weights go ahead! For me, I don't and I get bored with that kind of exercise. Poling is a definite workout and totally more fun than weights and you for sure can build strength with just that. As for stretching, I am still trying to figure out the routine for that one.

I would love to skype with you guys:) For now I'll just be jumping at it and sliding down haha but it's definitely encouraging to know you only started almost 2 months ago and can already do so much. I checked out your pics and I'm like woaaah hope I can get that good that fast! Do you have any exercises you practiced to get the arm strength up enough to do a basic pole hold? I just keep trying to do it and that has already helped also I'm doing the exercises I'm learning from Veena's videos to strengthen up.

With the improvement I have seen in myself in only days I am more motivated than ever. It's exciting to know that I CAN do this. I am trying not to focus on the slipping and more on how much stronger my grip is, how much longer I am already able to stay on the pole and more importantly, having fun! My knees are bruised my muscles are aching but I have never been this excited about learning something new in my life. portableninja, since I have no access to studios I can only learn on my pole so I always have my SV lessons video handy to focus on:) Can't wait to see what tomorrows progress shows!

Thanks everyone! I can already see improvement in one day. I just keep gripping and lifting myself. Yesterday I could not get any lift even when trying to use my legs to keep me up there. Now, I'm getting a few seconds up therehttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I'm hoping in a week I can hold myself for at least 10 seconds. Thanks for the encouragement guys!!

I can totally relate. The closest studio is about an hour and a half away and nobody is interested in my new hobby. I'm hoping this site will give me all the contact I need to self-teach
