The grip for this is much like the diagonal side pole hold shown in the spinning pole aerial forward invert. This modified grip allows for faster switches and the diagonal grip is more advanced because of the strength needed to safely hold the body in this position.

I always loose grip of the bottom knee when I bring the upper leg around. why does this happen?
