Beginner 1
Fireman and Back hook spin. When transitioning to the back hook use the shin of the leg that’s on the pole to push off, generating more power to turn the body backwards for back hook.

Ooooo!!! that was so pretty!
I can’t seem to got the switch from fireman to back hook. When i try this i always touch the ground before the switch and bang the front of the knee. Help. I can do both spins well on their own.
Make sure you have a fast fireman on its own. Also you can use the front of the shin to push off when moving into back hook.
You made that looks so easy and i am thinking that idk how i would stay up and switching like that without touching the floor! Love the 30 day take off! 🙂
So nice to see you back!! I’m happy you like the 30 days!
Me too!! I am happy to be back! You wouldn’t guess what video did for me!! It was one of yours when i think you just had your last kiddo, The one with the inverts? It inspired me to get off of my butt!
Aww I’m glad 🙂
The comment about pushing with the leg was what helped me 😀 thanks!
YESSSS!!!! I got it! That was tricky. Was practically jumping up and down with joy. I think a good way to think about it is to have the mindset that you’re doing the fireman into a climb, that way you don’t run the risk of touching the floor before you can make the transition.
That’s so great to hear you Ashlynn, and Ksenia!!
It’s not pole size 🙂 Practice and more practice!!
Can this be done on spin mode or are all beginner combos done on static?
You can, just you must change the technique slightly for spins. As using a sweeping and pushing of the feet can throw you off a spinning pole! 😊
I can’t wait to get back into pole and take it from the beginning. I’m seriously going to start from the very beginning. And just enjoy it all over.
That’s great to hear! Enjoy yourself 🙂
I’d love to nail this. I am on a static pole. I have my fireman on both side as well as my back hook. The issue is I am not high enough on the pole for fireman so by the time I try to get into hook, I am unable because I’m too close to the floor. Any ideas for me?
If you could post a video that would help me pinpoint what’s going on. Sounds like it might be a matter of making the switch faster.
the .imov format doesn’t seem to be acceptable — is there another I should use? Thanks so much
Can you explain what you mean? Does the video not play, are you getting an error message?
