Cartwheel Mount
In this video you’ll learn step by step how to Cartwheel mount. You’ll first start with the Half cartwheel mount before learning the full mount. You’ll also learn several leg positions including Straight edge and Ayesha (straddle) along with key tips to master this trick.
Remember this is not the twisted grip variation. We are using a true/regular grip but you can also try a cup grip with the top hand too. Please remember this takes practice. An important factor is to mentally tell yourself “I can do it!”
Strengthens: PECTORALS / LATISSIMUS / BICEPS / DELTOIDS / ABDOMINALS / ERECTOR SPINAE / LEG ABDUCTORS / LEG ADDUCTORS
So happy to see this lesson getting a reboot! After struggling for years with this move and finally nailing it I must say Veena’s lesson on cartwheel mount was invaluable. If you watch this and think “yeah, yeah – I’ve got it!” watch it again and make sure you follow the cues to a “t.” My 2+ year struggle with this move was related to my positioning – not strength, not even a mental block – it was all about my starting position and muscle engagement. And I haven’t seen that explained in such detail in any other lessons or classes.
Once I got the starting position and muscle engagement down this move was a breeze. Fair warning: you can still fling yourself into this one without having all of the necessary strength in the forearms. I had the 6 month elbow injury to prove that. 🙁
StrangeFox, thank you!!! I worked really hard on all the new lessons.
