Today is mostly about watching videos and giving a few things a try, if you like.

Here’s a list of direct links to each related tutorial. Remember you only need to click on these if you’d like more help or information such as Descriptions, Related tutorials, and Muscle groups used for any of the related tutorials listed for this video.

After watching my Tips video watch the next 9 videos these will give you a close look at grips we use. Try the scapula movements I demonstrate in the SOS video.

One more thing, I strongly suggest you write down your sets and reps and record yourself! Don’t worry you don’t have to show it to anyone. Keep your recording and sets and reps listed until the end of this program so you can look back at your progress!

  1. I’m so excited to start this program! Excellent tips! I’ve gotten too excited lately and jumped ahead of my actual skill level, so all of my pole moves are sloppy. Hoping this will fix that!

  2. I have been back in the game for a month or two, but it’s been disorganized and trying to strengthen spins, pole sits, and a basic climb and invert. This sounds perfect for right now. I think I’ll start tomorrow. Do you recommend any additional strength training or will this be sufficient? I was doing a 15-minute, 3 day a week regiment for lower body, upper body and abs, for several weeks and I’m wondering if this could replace that?

  3. I would think you could give this a try. We do train daily so that might help mix it up a bit. If you want to do any additional strength work do it on the strength and dance days and stick to the same muscle groups I have you working. Keep all active rest days to only the exercise I list.

  4. Grips that typically just seem to come naturally after several years, you just don’t realize that you can get sloppy in them. This was the perfect refresher!

  5. I’ve been in the starting over category for a few months after 4 years off of my pole. Similar to @Karen DJ my approach was disorganized. I certainly made progress as my strength increased and I was able to take advantage of muscle memory but it wasn’t feeling right. I’m looking forward to a more organized program. I miss going to the studio and attending structured classes. I think this program is just what I need. I’m starting over again and I am excited about that 🙂

  6. @kristenmaguirre4282 I almost started with the 30 Day Take Off but then realized that maybe I should start here since I’ve taken some classes and can even do some of the spins but would love to protect my shoulders. I wish I knew about StudioVeena when I first got started!

  7. @petunia89, she’s the bomb! I started with the 30 Day No Pole to warm myself back up to the pole, as I fell off the wagon last year. Since I do have some familiarity with her lessons, I decided to do the Beginner Level 1 Program next and so far it feels like the right choice! I LOVE like fitness. So glad I got into it and so glad I found Veena’s website.

  8. I absolutely love this new format, so organized, to the point and easy to follow. The explanations are great, especially the one about not skipping videos and understanding that all time on the pole is important. It’s so easy to get inpatient and discouraged when you are moving along as fast as you think you should, or forget that it’s a journey that even the most advanced pole dancer had to go through at some point. Going to start my day one today and I’m going to really try to stick to it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    1. I’m so happy it’s helpful and easy!

I’ve started and stopped more times than I can count, so don’t feel guilty if you have to take time off.

On the flip side if you’re at a point in life where you can push to keep going, let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you keep at it!

  9. I’ve tried to go through the 30 day takeoff program twice before and something always prevented me from finishing (moving, illness, etc.). Finally finished it and I’m so excited for Level 1! I feel like my foundations are stronger this go round, so I’m hoping to see continued progress.
