30 Day Takeoff: Day 29
Duration: 00:45:45
Today you’ll work on exercises for the lower body and then play around with a few half spins, which will help you prepare to lift both feet off the ground for full spins. Tomorrow you’ll try your first choreographed pole dance routine! I’m sharing the Dragonfruit Dancing routine today because watching the day before you give it a go will help your brain feel more prepared because there won’t be any surprises.
Pro tip: From now on you’ll be introduced to more and more challenging skills, which is usually exciting and fun. However, it’s also common for people to begin feeling like they should achieve a trick the same day they first learned about it, and when it doesn’t happen you might feel a bit panicked or defeated. If you’re having a hard time enjoying the learning process, you might enjoy my RANT about “struggling to achieve a pole trick” to help put things into perspective.

day 29 done, can’t believe it’s almost the end
You feeling stronger?
Absolutely stronger!
Day 29 done! I cannot get the hang of the half cradle hop… trying to push the bottom arm into the pole feels shaky but I’m sure its mainly a strength issue
Feel free to share a video of your half cradle and I can help you troubleshoot. ๐
Ok here are two videos I shot:

https://youtube.com/shorts/Rcf3LYHPwkI
I have been trying so hard to understand how to do it and I keep getting confused about which arm is supposed to be on top vs. bottom, and which direction Iโm supposed to be turning to? I donโt think this is supposed to be a difficult movement but I donโt understand how to do it at allโฆ
I took a look at the videos. I think youโre being too hard on yourself.. to me it looks like somebody whoโs just learning this skill! From what I see you do understand thereโs just one tweak you should make.
Right now youโre facing the pole you need to turn so that the Pole is to your side, not in front of you.
PS just because something looks easy doesnโt mean it is. Iโve been doing this for years of course it looks like an easy thing itโs not. ๐ however, this fact is a reason why pole dance is so good for us it also challenges our brain!
Thank you for this Veena, ๐ I appreciate the reminder of your skill level. It’s easy to get discouraged but there’s no point in trying to rush things with pole

Wonderful ๐
Made it to day 29 but ended up taking a month off due to schooling, so sad! I’m going to focus on full body pole strength routine and stretches throughout the week and see if I can finish the last two days next week.
Life happens. Thereโs no rush and you can always go through the program again. ๐
